Prior.. to the service Cheryl Tomil nson, playing her guitar, had the congregation singing from the song book. , The Sunday School children were brought to the front of the church where Rev. Yout- niatoff spoke with thenal before singing and said Jesus' love is very wonderful with Cheryl Tomilinson playing the guitar. Edward Deeves and Ray Wise received the offering. Confirmation is near. Rehearsal will be on October 27 at 3 p.m. and Confirmation on November 3 at 3 p.m. Bishop M.C. Robinson will be officiating. It is hoped that everybody will be out for this important occasion in the lives of four young people. On October 27 the congregation will be honored to have Mrs. Hilda Bell preach. This has been a request since Hilda is the Rector's wife. Maybe everyone could' bring a friend along. October 26 is Celebrate Teachers day - a day for teachers at the Cathedral. Registra- tion starts at 9:30 a.m. Approximately 400 people came last time. Ladies of St. James please roll up your pennies and hand them in to the leaders. If you have not made your donations to the bakeless sale, please do so soon. Edward and Blanche Deeves are happy to be home after spending a month in Green- wood, Nova Scotia with Len and Donna Mills and Len Junior awaiting the arrival of a new grandchild. Finally they have grand- daughter, Shallyn Marie, born on October 1. While there the Deeves saw many apple orchards in the valley and saw where the Aurora aeroplanes are worked on by the ser- vicemen, one being Cpl. Len Mills. They attended many baseball games and along with the team, attended a dinner dance and barbecue. On the way home the colors were a sight o see. It was just good to see Clinton again. President Grace Drummond gave a reading entitled Children's Creed. Roll call was answered by "Were you born on a farm, and where". Phyllis,Parsons Chaired the program which she opened with a verse on Thanksgiving. Hilda Payne gave an ex- cellent motto on Pray to God for a good ' harvest but continue to hoe. Here's a simple recipe for you to make a dozen for your friends and family. To make candy apples you need: • A cookie sheet • A little butter • 12 small red apples • 12 popsicle sticks • 1 cup corn syrup • 1 cup sugar Directions: 1. Grease a large cookie sheet 2. Push the popsicle sticks into the stem end of the apples 3. Put the sugar and corn syrup into a pot and gently bring to a boil. 4. Dip the apples into the "toffee." 5.
