By Kathy Bromley
On October 8, the Blyth Fire Department
responded to a call concerning a corn dryer,
at the farm of John Cronyn, at 10:18 a.m.
Smoke had been detected, but with the pro-
mpt action shown by the department,
nothing amounted out of it. It had also caus-
ed the hydro to go off for a matter of a few
minutes, making many people think that a
car accident had occurred.

Over the long weekend, many people were
being host/hostess to friends and relatives
and had the hospitality shown by them, to
share the celebration of Thanksgiving. It
was also a weekend to finish things tip at the
cottages, etc. or other small jobs that have
to be done to prepare for the onset of winter.
Although the weather wasn't just the best,
most people made the most of it and enjoyed
it anyway, since it was the last long
weekend before Christmas. .
Remember - The Blyth 3 -C's are looking
for more interested people who are trying to
lose weight. Things are going in your favor -
CHANCES ARE SLIM and for once, these

and five flags stolen. The flags included a Canada flag, provincial and county flags, Rad -
ford's flag and the fire department flag. They were valued at over $400 damage. Blyth
