Clinton News-Record, 1985-10-09, Page 27areasare open Eighty-eight percent of all properties owned by the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA) remain open to hunters. ,agreement forests owned by the MVCA and managed by the Ministry of Natural Resources account for 85Q acres (344 hest.) of the 3,185 acres (1,289 hect.) of land open to hunting by the Maitland Valley Con- servation Authority. Some areas which are owned by the MVCA are in the proximity of towns and villages. Although the Authority has not closed these areas, municipal' bylaws strict- ly regulate the use of firearms and thus those areas have not been listed.. Only properties where a potential conflict of uses (example parks,edueationaf cen- tres) have been closed for hunting by the MVCA.
