information centre during the summer
months. It was pointed out that a stop there

Financial assistance for an information
centre might be obtained from the Ministry
of Tourism.

Prior to the business meeting the seniors
met for a pot luck dinner, organized under
the direction of social 'Convenor Ernie
Cleave.
At the start of the business meeting,. past
president Esther Wright handed the gavel to
the new president Jeanne Lindsay. At the
suggestion of Fern Baker, members gave
Mrs. Wright a rousing round of applause for
well conducted meetings, while she was
president.
Members agreed to invite the Good
Companions of Dashwood to the next
meeting on Thursday, October 24. Ida
Godkin of Clinton will report on the United
Senior Citizens of Ontario Convention, held
at Queen's University, Kingston.
The club also voted to hold its annual
Christmas turkey dinner on Tuesday,

•The Bayfield Agricultlgral,Society held its
!fafte*the-fair" meeting on Thursday
evening in .the Municipal building. A good
attendance was on hand to hear reports
from the treasurer and committees.
Financially, the society appears to have
had a successful fair and the various
committee convenors were pleased with the
overall results.

130th annual fall fair held by the society.
This concurs with the 150th celebration in
Stanley Township, SQ some ideas were
forthcoming in regard to that event.
The District 8 Conference will be held this
year in Milverton on October 24, and some of
the Society's members are planning to

candid.
The annual meeting will be held on
November 21 in the Municipal building with
a pot luck supper at 6:30 p.m. Business
meeting to follow.
Bluewater Golf Club holds dinner, meeting
Eighty-two people attended the annual
fall meeting and dinner of the Bluewater
Golf Club, held October 5 in Bayfield.
The evening was highlighted by the
presentation of trophies and awards and the
selection of the 1986 executive.
Rae Fraser was .named president and
Mert Elliott, the vice president. Past presi-
dent is Jean Bartliff.
Ross Lawson is the new president of the
men's league and Dora Warwick will head
the ladies' league. Len Johnson is president
of the men's senior league.
Other officers include: John. Yem
Dunleavy, mixed league director; Al
Hughes, junior director; Tim West, recor-
ding secretary.
Kay Sharp and Gerry Sterling earned the
Two Ball Trophy, presented by Ed and Flo
Oddleifson.
Thursday Night Men's League awards
were presented by Len Johnson to: low han-
dicap scorers, B. Draper, G. Sterling, D.
Bartliff and B. Bartliff; high handicaps, H.
McPherson, R. Vodden, F. Newland and F.
Pyke.
Team awards went to: B. Draper and F.
Newland; 'B. Bartliff and H. McPherson; G.
Sterling and G: Elliott; J. Pounder and, F.
Pyke. Richard Dick was ,named the most
honest golfer.
Dora Warwick presented the ladies'
awards to B. Kenny, the most improved
golfer and M. Elliott, the best putter.
Club championship awards were given out
by Al Hughes. Recipients included: mien's -

KIPPEN ; The fourth meeting of the 4-H
club was held on October 1 at Brucefield
United Church.
Members learned about different kinds of
cakes, how to beat egg whites, the actual
baking ofthe cakes, and the nutritional
value of specific cakes. They made peanut
'butter cupcakes; chocolate cake and apple

Notice to Municipal Electors
TOWNSHIP OF TUCKERSMITH
TAKE NOTICE that persons may be nominated as candidates in an
election between 9 o'clock in the forenoon and 5 o'clock in the
afternoon of nomination day, Monday, October 21st, 1985, but
nothing in section 35 of the Municipal Elections Act, R.S.O. 1980, c.
308 prevents a person filing a nomination paper with the Clerk
during his normal office hours during the four days immediately
preceding nomination day.
Offices for which persons may be nominated:
A. Reeve, Deputy -Reeve, and three Councillors for the Township of
Tuckersmith,
B. One member to the Huron County Board of Education for the
Township of Tuckersmith and the Town of Clinton.
C. One member to the Huron -Perth Roman Catholic Separate School
Board for the Townships of Tuckersmith and Stanley, and the Town of
Seaforth.
Each of the members so nominated, if elected, are to serve a three-
year term, commencing December lst, 1985 and for 1986, 1987 and
1988.
Where the number of candidates for an office is not sufficient to
fill the number of vacancies to which candidates may be elected, on
tho Wednesday following nomination day, October 23, 1985, the
Clerk may between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. receive and
certify additional nominations for the office in respect to which
there was an insufficient number of candidates.
