Group started for mothers with young children
Py Kathy Bromley
° A new inter -denominational club has been
started at the Blyth United Church for
mothers with young children, being held
every Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Various crafts and discussions are plann-
ed to be 'held. There is also supervised
nursery care for the youngsters to enable
the' mothers to participate in both the crafts
and the topics to be discussed.
They will be going by a' basic guideline for
discussions, to get things going, but, any
concerns .you may have will also be ap-
preciated. Come out and ^ see how the pro-
blems you thought only you were encounter-
ing,are also being experiencedby most
mothers today. Some examples . are the
television—how it affects children and their
way of life; the commercials -the advan-
tages and disadvantages and the kind of role
they play. How will they affect the next
generation?
•
Crafts will be held to mark the festive
season accordingly. In November, a
demonstration for- Christmas floral ar-
rangements will be shown and dough -boys
will be made. Also there will be guides
discussed for purchasing toys for..
Christmas—what to buy and what not to buy
for your children. Films will also be shown.
The topics are endless, so come out and at-
tend and find that what most mothers are
going through, you're m the same boat. The
'problems will be discussed and hopefully,
'solutions to help raise our children in a bet-.'
ter atmosphere will be reached.
