September 23rd, 1985, Mrs: Florence Mabel
(Robertson) Cooper, of R.R. 3, Kippen in her 81s1'
year. Beloved wife of Jock and his wife Karen, of
Hensoll; Lloyd and his wife June, of R.R. 3 Kip -
pen, Dear grandmother. of Jim Cooper and his
wife Beth and Scott Cooper, all of R.R. 3, Kippen.
Mrs. Cooper is predeceased by one ibrother
Angus Robertson. Visitation after 2 p.m.
Wednesday in the Hensel' Chapel of Michael P.
O'Connor Funeral Homes, 118 King Street, Hen-
sel', where the funeral service was conducted on,
Thursday, September 264r at 2 p.m. Rev. Lorne
Keays officiated. Interment followed in Hensoll

At University Hospital, London, on Wednesday,
September 25th, 1985, Mrs. Susan Christina
(Dalrymple) Purdy, of Northcrest Apts., Hensel',
in her 81st year. Beloved wife of the late Len•
wood Rufus P,urdy (1980). Dear mother of Mary
Maxine (Mrs. Lorne Weiberg), of R.R. 1, Zurich.
Dear sister of Wilmer Dalrymple, of Exeter, Ruby
(Mrs. David Triebner), of Brucefield, Marjorie
(Mrs. Charles Dunlop), of Stratford, Mrs. Purdy is
predeceased by one daughter Mildred Laurine
(1941) and by one brother Robert Garnet Dalrym-
ple and a sister Lilly (Mrs. Ward Forrest). Also
surviving are 5 grandchildren and 11 great-
grondchildren. Visitation in the Hensel! Chapel
of Michael P. O'Connor Funeral Homes, 118 King
Street, Hensoll, where the funeral service was
conducted on Saturday, September 28th at 12
noon. Rev, Stanley 'McDonald officiated. Inter•
ment followed in McTaggart's Cemetery. - 40

29, 1985, Harry Gerofsky of 589 Regent Street; in
his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Htty (Gard•
ner) Gerofsky. Dear father of Linda and her hus-
band Sheldon Sherman of Toronto, Steven and
his wife Elaine, David and his wife Maureen, all
of London. Also loved by six grandchildren. Debr

Dr. Walter A., a graduate of the University of
Toronto Medical Clods of 2T6, at the University
Hospital, London, Ont. on Monday morning,
September 30, 1985, Dr. Walter A. Oakes of
Owen Sound and formerly of Clinton. Husband of
the former Louise Rogers, father of W. Harris
Oakes of Alice, Texas and David A. Oakes of
Toronto. Also survived by '9 grandchildren.
Predeceased by 1 sister and 3 brothers. Visiting
for the family was held at the Breckenridge -
Ashcroft Funerol Home in Owen Sound on Tues-
day evening followed by a family service on
Wednesday morning. interment was in Green-
wood Cemetery, As an' expression of sympathy,
donations to the Clinton Public Hospital would be

auditorium, are shaking the rafters, from all appearances the impressive chandelier is

Be sure to watch the Channel 12 television
program Open Roads,. October" 12. Our very
own Tom Penhale and his splendid wagons,
is tobe featured. '
Tom and Rick had a very good showing at
the Ilderton°Fall Fair on Saturday. They
received four first prizes;' a third, a fourth
and a lovely trophy for the best heavy horse
on the grounds.
The 4-H club is flourishing. Bernadette
writes, "On September 26, we had our
second meeting. Bernadette, Fitoussi made
the pie crust' and Wendy Madison made the
filling for an apple • pie. The meeting took
place at Mrs. DeJong's. We have two more
people ,who have joined our group, Kathy
Rogers and Lisa Porter."
Don't forget the Open House at the Fire
Hall on Saturday, October 5. This is fire
prevention week and we all want to know
how to do 'that. Captain Percy Renner has

speaker Bill Sheeler from Poplar Hill., He is
assistant principal at Sander's Secondary
School in London. His daughter Moira and
son Brian presented a musical number with
Moira at the piano and her brother playing
the guitar. Knox Church will remain open
until Thanksgiving Sunday, October . 13.
Following that service the annual
Thanksgiving walk will be held.'
Congratulations to Kendra Penhale who
has reached the ripe old age of: two years
with 'admiring ' relatives attending - her
birthday party," including great
'grandparents, Lilian Penhale of Bayfield,
Susan and Bert Faber from Kippen and even
great; great Aunt,. Marie Scott. from St.
Thomas. Kendra's big brother. Ryan ably
supervised the opening of . her many
presents.

' about re -opening the Town Hall? Who is on
the fact finding committee, and what
suggestions have been considered.
The Senior Citizens who spent so' much
money and even more important, physical
energy in putting the Town Hall in shape not
too long ago are justifiably concerned. '
A community Which can raise sufficient
moneys to build two arenas in a relatively
short span of years, should not be
intimidated at the thought' of cost of
restoration of our Town Hall, which is such
