Mrs. Harris said that she supported the
idea of a higher fainly fee, for those with
more than one child involved in the prop
gram, . but she also raised the concerti that
some parents wouldn't be willing to pay
more.
Councillor William Howson further noted
that higher costs could exclude some
children. He suggested,, "It's the, children's
program and you, wouldn't want to deprive
them."
Council's first step towards securing more
funding next year will be to gain support
from surrounding municipalities, thus giv-
ing the program a larger per capita base for
chances of greater funding.
Registration will be broken down into
facts and figures as to how many children
from each municipality took part in the pro-
gram, with a request for financial support to
be ma i e. based en these percentages.

nivals, swimming, crafts and story time.
The children themselves helped raise'
funds for the program through three events:'
A bake sale raised $60; a car wash, $100; a,
bottle drive, $60.
Salaries for counsellors amounted to
$2,508.78, less the grant of $1,227, leaving the
program's cost to the village at $1,381.78.
