The' 13lyth Lions Club held their first
meeting for. the -1985-'86 season on
Scptetilber 12. Lion President 'Gerald Kerr
out lined the Canine Vision Canada's Walk -a-.
Dog -a -Than. The object of this walk is to •
raise Money fur the New Guide Dog School
located in Oakville, Everyone is invited'to

The 11yt11 Lions operated a Food Booth, a
hospitality room and a be,,cf barbecue at'the
Stearn Thresher's Reunion. A profit of ap-
proximately $3,500 -.was realized. All pro-
ceeds will. be used on icons projects in the
Blyth area lir projects of Lions. Clubs Inter •

Walton - 'i'wenty-one ladies attended the
September 11 meeting of the Walton UCW
Unit.
Maxine .Marks.read a poem and Doreen
Hackwell was pianist. Scripture was read by
Marjory Fraser and Mary Humphries read
several articles on Stewardship.
Business was conducted by Viola Kirkby,
who also read a poem. Minutes were read by,
Audrey Hack well. The treasurer, Leona
McDonald, gave her report.
On September 23 the supper committee is
to meet at the church at 7 p.m. Copper
Contest money is to come in at the
November meeting. •

In last weeks paper it was stated the
Workman's won in the WI draw.
It is the Walton Area Sports Club monthly

On Sunday, September 22 at 11 a.m., a
baptismal service will be included in the
regular Sunday service of worship. Rev.
Gordon Simmons will conduct this service,
and the following children will be baptized -
'Jayinie Anne Campbell, daughter of Dr.
Robert and Debbie Campbell of Port Elgin;
Craig Daniel Campbell, son of Daniel and
Irene Campbell of Zurich and Jason
Alexander Roy, son of Steven and Debbie
Roy of Clinton.
Jessica Elizabeth Mary Hough, daughter
of Brian and Sharon Hough, who was
baptized at the family service during the
week, will be presented to the congregation
with the other babies at the service on

The annual fall pot -luck supper meeting o
the Ladies Friendship Guild was Meld ora;I
September 18 at Mary Murphy's summer
home on Lake Huron. A "mystery" auction;,
sale was held, and theproceeds will be put'
towards St. Paul's renovation fund. Th `1
attractive St. Paul's commemorative mu
designed forthe church's 150th anniversary;
are still available, and, can be purchased for, .d
$4 at Herman's Men's Wear Shop.
Laurel Lavis, organist and choir leader at
St. Paul's announced that weekly practise
will resume on September 19 at 7:30 p.m.
New members are welcome.
Plans sent for approval
Although no dollar figure has been attach-
ed to the plans, drawings have been sent off
to the Ministry of education for approval of
an addition to St. Boniface separate school
in Zurich.
The preliminary plans provide for the ad-
dition of two regular classrooms, a
kindergarten room, a special education
classroom and two change rooms.
The need fnr the larger crbhnnl fneilitien
follows the closing of Ecole Ste. Marie at St. 1
Joseph's and the transferring of students, to. P
St. Boniface.
School board chairman Ron Marcy said{
the board has to first find out if the educa;l
tion ministry will fund the project before•
any further action is taken by the board.
In related matters, the' school board
agreed to sell Ecole Ste. Marie. '
