de Partie course at Humber College in
Toronto in June. Richard is cooking at Vit-
torio's Restaurant in Stratford.
Elaine Pennings
Elaine Pennings, daughter of Harry. and
Willie Pennings of RR 1 Zurich, recently
graduated from Conestoga College of Ap-
plied Arts and Technology, obtaining a
diploma in the Secretarial Arts -Executive
Program. Elaine was named to the Presi-
dent's Honor List. She has accepted a
secretarial position with the Bayfield Boat
Yard, Vanastra.

Dairy princess crowned

Children have to know that Milk is more
nutritious than pop says Huron County's
newly crowned dairy princess, Liz Stewart
of R.R. 1, Dublin. ,
"I think it's.vnportant that children knots
'that," said Miss Stewart, "particularly in
light of the recent 'cola wars' .".
This 18 -year-old University of Guelph stu-
dent was named county dairy .princess over
five other young women at the Brussels
Community Centre on September 6. She is
' the daughter of Mac and Joan Stewart.
Miss Stewart expects to spend her year
promoting milk and milk products and
hopes. that because of her. 'promotion,
children will drink more milk.
She is takinga bachelor of science degree
at the agricultural. university and hopes to
major in animal science: She now has three.
career goals in mind. She would like to be
either an agriculture representative, a
Rural Organization Services person or workt
with United Breeders.
Miss Stewart takes the crown from Denise
Nethery , of Wingham.• The runner-up is
Brenda Naricekivel1,16, of R.R. 1, Clifford.
Others competing for the title were Mary
Murray of R.R. 1, Dublin, Darlene Darlow
of R.R. 4, Wingham, Laurie Schneider of
'R.R. 1., Fordwich„ and Marg Heipel of R.R.
. 3, Clinton. ". •
An active 4-H member and past winner of
the Charles McNaughton trophy, a top
'award in county 4-1-1, Miss Stewart. enjoys
playing broomball, playing piano and .show-
ing cattle. She works at McLee farms.
Miss Stewart receives a set of luggage, a
bougnet of roses, cash, clock and numerous
other awards.

Gunby of R.R. 1, Dungannon, Betty Ann '
Elliot of Stratford, and Walter Hamel of
R.R. 2, Elmwood.
GI visits grandparents

MIDDLETON-Morning Prayer at St.
James' Anglican Church was well attended,
with Sunday School starting for the upcom-
ing year. Teachers were Lisa Storey. and
Carol Wammes. The St. James' congrega-
tion was pleased to have Dwight Dawn of
Canadian Forces Base Cornwallis, Nova
Scotia in attendance. A letter was received
from the Crisis' Centre, Goderich. thanking
St. James' congregation for their support.
Confirmation class will be held, Wednes-
day, September 11 at 7:00 p.m. The
Synagogue tour is now delayed until Oc-
tober.
Hilda Bell the rector's wife will be corn -
missioned into her new position at St. John's
, on Sunday, September 22 at 11 a.m.
The ACW of St. James' will meet
September 12 at 8 P.M. at the home of
Margaret Middleton.
