Cartwright -Carey
Neil Allan Cartwright of RR 1 Londesboro
and Lisa Anne Carey of 62 Cambria St.,
Stratford were married at Parkview United
Church, Stratford on July 12. Rev. Anne
Ross officiated. The groom is the son of
Howard and Marjorie Cartwright of RR 1
Londesboro and the bride is the daughter of
Dr. Paul and Nina Carey of 235 William St.,
Stratford. Maid of honor was Debbie Bathe
of Stratford and bridesmaids were Julie
Agar, Lisa Kilpis and Cheryl Daxon, all of
Stratford. Greg Schmidt of RR 5 Vanastra
was the best man and ushers were Steve
Stratton of RR 1 Londesboro, Dave. Brissette
of Goderich and Les Knott of Rodney.
Following a reception at the Stratford
Legion, the newlyweds honeymooned at the
Chateau Woodland, Haliburton...They are
making their home at RR 1 Londesboro.

Tideswell-Wise
Christine Wise, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Edward Wise and Wayne Tideswell, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Tideswell were married at
St. James Anglican Church, Middleton on
August 10. Rev. Aubrey W. Bell officiated.
Matron of honor was Gail Fraser of
Brucefield, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids
were Ruth Wise of Bayfield, sister-in-law of
the bride, Susan Tideswell and Brenda
Tideswell of Clinton, both sisters of the
groom. The best man was Tony Van Dyke of
London, friend of the groom. Ushers were
Rob Knights of Clinton, friend of the groom,
Charlie Wise of Clinton, brother of the bride
and Mark Tideswell of Clinton, brother of
the groom. A wedding reception was held at
the Clinton Community Centre. Following
the reception the couple honeymooned in
Niagara Falls and in Northern Ontario. The

Adair -Connolly
Orno H. Adair and Michele J. Connolly were
married in St. Paul's Anglican Church, Clin-
ton on August 24. Rev. Gordon Simmons of-
ficiated. The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Hugie Adair of RR2 Dashwood and the
bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith
Connolly of RR2 Bayfield. Maid of honor
was Terri Clarkson of Sarnia and
bridesmaids were Sandy Dries of London,
the groom's sister, Kim Scott of RR3 Ailsa
Craig and a niece, of the bride, Carrie Con-
nolly of Clinton. The flowergirl was a niece
of the bride., Angie Connolly of Clinton and
the ringbearer was a nephew of the bride,
Philip Connolly of Clinton. The best man
was Glen Bullock of RR3 Parkhill and
guests were ushered into the church by Dar-
rell Hodgins of RR3 Parkhill, Daryl Hodgins
of RR8 Parkhill and Todd Mellin of RR2
Dashwood. A wedding reception was held in
Varna. The newlyweds have made their

Walk-akidog-a-thon planned
Raising , funds 41 help develop much-
needed seeing eye dogs for visually im-
paired Canadians is the goal of the first-ever
national Canine Vision Canada Walk -A -Dog -
A -Thou.
The 10 -kilometer • walk will be held in
Goderich on October 6. It will begin at Sun- •
coast. Mall parking lot (Bayfield Road) at 2
p.m. All participants should register one
hour before,the event begins.
To enter is very straightforward: Anyone
who is interested simply gets sponsors to
pledge any amount of money per kilometer
and then completes as much of the course as
possible with his or her dog.
For sponsorship sheets and information,
contact ;any member of the Goderich and
District Lions Club. Pledge forms can also
be picked up at the following locations:
Art's Landscaping, McGee's, Hayter's,
Goderich Plymouth Chrysler and Victoria
and Grey Trust Company. •
Canine Vision- Canada (C.V.C.) is a non-
profit organization dedicated to the training
of guidego s for visually "impaired Cana-
dians.
"Through the Walk-A-Dog-A-Tlion pro-
ceeds, C.V.C. will be able to fund final
renovations of the training school and have
a stronger financial base for their first year
of operations," says Ron Brown, C.V.C. ex-
ecutive director"
Forty-nine cities across Canada will be
participating on October 6. The national
goal this year is $2 million, with the slogan,
"Walk your best friend for those who need
one."
Tours to Grand Bend,
London and Blyth
HURONVIEW - Several residents went to
Grand Bend on September 4 to the Huron
County Playhouse where they saw the
musical production of Sound of Music. Some
folk who had seen it before thought it was
excellent, even though some of the cast had
been replaced from the earlier show.
Residents from the Bayview area took a
jaunt to London on Thursday, and spent
some time at the new shopping mall Mason-
ville.
Mid -week Bible Study was also held that
afternoon with the leader Mrs. Prouty in
charge. A devotional reading was given by
Mildred Marwick.
Friday morning Roman Catholic Mass
with Rev. John Pltita took place in the
chapel. About noontime, several residents

John Drummond
Funeral services were held on September
10, at Ball and Falconer Funeral Home,
Clinton for John Drummond.
Mr. Drummond of RR3 Clinton„ died at
Clinton Public Hospital on September 8. He,
was 77.
Mr. Drummond was born in Liverpool,
England on May 16, 1908 to the late James
Pollock Drummond and Margaret Boyd
Cumming.
He emigrated to Canada in 1925 and

funeral service was held on Saturday

MR. JOHN DRUMMOND of RR 3 Clinton
and formerly of Streetsville died on Sunday"
September 8., 1985. Funeral service was
held on Tuesday. Septerriber 10, 1985.
married Doris Edna Bell in Halifax, Nova
Scotia on October 31, 1946. After their
marriage, the Drummonds moved to
Streetsville in 1949. They moved to Clinton in
1984.
Mr. Drummond worked as a stationary
engineer with the St.' , Lawrence Starch
Company. He retired in 1975.
'Along with his wife, Mr. Drummond is
survived by four children, Mrs. Craig
( Mary) Morley of Clinton, Mrs. Larry
(Janet) Rutledge of RR3 Clinton, Ean and

Ena,Clark, a resident. of the Five Seasons,
Estates . near Bayleld and formerly of
Scotland, died in Clinton Public Hospital on
September 5. She was 63.
Mrs. Clark was born in Edderton,
Scotland on September 22, 1921 to the late
Archibald MacDonald and the late Ellen

went up to Blyth to attend the
Threshermen's Reunion, This was the place
to be, for anyone interested in the
machinery used so many years ago. From
all reports,. the group at Huronview had an
enjoyable time.
Sunday morning worship was held in the
chapel with Rev. David Snihur in charge.
During the service, a solo was sung by.
Mabel Scott:
In the afternoon:. many relatives and
friends gathered in the auditorium' to join in
the celebrating of the 60th wedding anniver-
sary of Mr; and Mrs. Calvert Falconer. This
couple are highly respected residents of
Huronview. This very happy occasion
marks 60 years) of married life together.
McGillivray. She was married in Elgin,
Scotland on September 17, 1947 to Douglas
Clark. Mrs. Clark was a member of the
Presbyterian Church.
•In March of 1953, they emigrated to
Canada. Mr. Clark joined the Armed Forces
and they lived in various areas of Canada
until they were posted in Clinton in 1961.
They have resided in the area ever since.
She is survived by one son, Richard and
his wife Janet of Guelph and by two grand-
daughters, Sandra and Robin Clark. She is
also survived by several sisters in Scotland.
Funeral services were held at the Ball and
Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton on
September 7. Rev. Willy Ziegler officiated.
Cremation followed at the Woodland
Crematorium, London.
MRS. VIOLET L. MacADAM
Mrs. Violet L. MacAdam of Goderich died
at her home on Monday, September 9 at the
age of69.-
She was born in East Wawanosh Township
on January 9, 1916 to Charles Victor and
'Ethel (Hutton) Cooke.
The late Mrs. MacAdam was a Member of
Knox Presbyterian Church, Goderich.
• She is survived by son Joseph and his wife.

children and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one grand-
daughter and one great-grandson.
A funeral service. was "held for the late
Mrs. MacAdam at McCallum„Funeral Home
in Goderich on Wednesday, September 11 at
2 p.rn. The Reverend G.L. Royal of Knox
Presbyterian Church officiated.
Pallbearers were -grandsons Bill Fuller,
Bruce Fuller, Bradley Fuller, Steven
Fuller, Bruce MacAdam and Darren
MacAdam.
Flower bearer was grandson. Todd
MacAdam.
Interment was in the Maitland Cemetery,
Goderich.

will hold their first breakfast meeting of the
season on Sunday, September 22 at 8 a.m.
