Historical Facts
about Kubota
1. In 1890, Kubota began as a manufacturer of casting and
cast pipe.
2. In 1922 Kubota entered the agricultural field, building
Kerosene engines, power tillers, and tractors. Kubota
made tractor history when it became the first tractor
company in the world -to introduce a 4 wheel drive small
compact tractor.
3. In 1950, Kubota saw the need in the North American
market for a garden tractor.
4. In 1969, Kubota Tractor Co. was established in North
America.
5, Kubota quality has .been recognized by the customer.
Today Kubota has 65% of the North American market in
tractors up to 20 h. p.
6. Similar success is coming in the 20 to 100 horsepower
tractor market.

A big part of the Threshermen's Reunion is
the parade. Horns are blown and the drums
are used to mark the special occasion.

preparing triage feasts for: the threshing
gangs. Tho: traditional threshing feasts are.

Reunion, • •
Food booths, breakfasts and *tip,
the three day event offer culinary treats, for
people of alt tastes.
One of the most popular eating spots is.
located in the arena auditorium where -the
Blyth Legion Ladies Auxiliary, under the
direction of Lillian Riehl, serve lunches,
snacks and hot dinners.
Hot meals will include turkey, beef or
sausage dinners, cabbage salad, garden
fresh vegetables and homemade pies. Some
70 pies have been baked to feed -the hundreds
Of dinner guests and a new addition to this
year's.dessert menu is cherry cheesecake.
Egg, Salmon, turkey and beef sandwiches
and dessert will be served for lunches.
Proceeds from the meals "are directed
back to the Legion AuxliarA, then delegated
for community work.
Money is also given to minor sports, in ap-
preciation for the help that their supporters
offer the Auxiliary ladies at the food booths.
Those who are familiar with the threshing
reunion, are also familiar with the hospitali-
ty and cooking talents of the Blyth Lions
Club.
The Lions Club will operate a beer garden
in Lions' Park on Saturday and will serve a
hot roast beef dinner et the arena
auditorium on Saturday night.
This year the Lions will also be hosting the
OPP Pipes and Drums band to a Friday
night meal.
The money raised by the Lions C,ab at the
reunion will help offset the costs of new pic-
nic pavilion, built at Lions' P; rk,
• Members of the Blyth •Fire Department
will again be joining the food service ranks
at the reunion: For the third year in a row,
the firemen will be serving up pancake
breakfasts at the Fire Hall on Saturday and
Sunday morning.
Pies, hot dogs, cider and bean pots, pop-
corn and ice cream treats are some of the
many taste treats that can be found on the
grounds of the thresher reunion.
