Mrs. McEwing McConnell has accepted a position in Oshawa; Council will advertise for a new supervisor, with applications due prior to September 3. Council approved the appointment of Brenda Brunzlow as the teacher at the day care centre at Vanastra. The resolution 4 the Township of Hibbert was supported petitioning the Ministry of Natural Resources for a reduction in the flood plain line in the Ausable-Bayfield Con- servation Authority area. Presently it is the Htirrican Hazel line and Hibbert feels this is unnecessarily .high and should' be the 100 year line for the area. Tuckersmith agreed. Mof- fatt, Vicki Cantelon, Brian Phillips and Greg Carter will be taking part in a Worldwide Rovers Moot in New Zealand if they can come up with the financial backing needed to make the trip. It will cost $2,000 to send each participant and leader Rev. Jim Bechtel on the once -in - a lifetime journey. Members of the Rovers Club are appealing to local service tlubs and are organizing a number of special fund raising projects to help lower the costs. They aim to reduce the costs to $200 each. The six young people are members of the Rovers Club, the senior division level of Scouting. Founded by Lord Baden Powell a year after Boy Scouts was established, Rovers have only gained popularity in Clin- ton in recent years. Clinton has the only Rovers group in Huron County. . Rovers is a co-ed program for 18 to 23 year olds. The group, is service and community oriented and aims to .utilize the leadership skills that members learned in•Scouting and Guiding,.' The New Zeal...id journey invites Rovers from around theworld to celebrate 50 years of'Rovering in New Zealand. Five hundred . ,Rovers from around the globe will join with 500 New Zealand Rovers at the March 1986 celebration. The three week journey will involve a 1Q - day assembly, along with tours of New Zealand's north and south islands, a visit to Clinton, New Zealand, stopovers in Hibbert Council present were Reeve Evan Norris, Deputy Reeve Donald John and Clerk CharlesFriend. The only Tuckersmith ratepayer present was John Flannery of Egrnotldville who did not express any concern for the proposed change. Etts Delvecchio of Egmondville was at the council meeting to explain to council that he had asked the Town of Seaforth for a sewer connection for his home to its sanitary sewage system but that the town had advised him that the request should come from Tuckersmith Council. This is to be investigated and 'a reply given to Mr. Delvecchio at the next council meeting. Council approved the sale of Lot 21, Plan 131 at Vanastra to John Hummel with the condition unposed on him that he construct a residence on it in conformity to his site plan and if this is not constructed within one year of the transfer of the property, then the title reverts to the municipality for the pur- chase price. On a request for a donation from the Town and Country Homemakers the council decided to donate $500: Council will apply on behalf of the Huron County Planting Department for I,M.A. stu- dent tudent for 19.86, A request from Frank Anderson of Vanastra to commence the operation of a limousine service was approved by council. An application from William Hearn for a designated,property (BRIC) grant of $2,000 from the government was approved for his house of Historical value. Chris .Kier Limited of Goderich is to be engaged' to complete the necessary survey- ing for. reconstruction of the bridge on Lot 30-31, concession 2, Huron Road survey. A rate was established for material;; from the township pit for the reconstruction work on the bridge - $3.25 per cubic yard for Granular A; 60 cents per cubic yard for sand plus the stripping of the top of the pit for fill material at 10 cents per cubic yard, bank measurement. or New Zealand backers Karen Elizabeth Cudmore Mr. and Mrs. William Cudmore announce the graduation of their daughter, Karen Elizabeth Cudmore, from a one year post- graduate course in Recreation for• Special Populations, at Georgian College, Orillia on August 24. This followed the two year course as Developmental Service Worker. She is also a graduate of Central Huron Secondary School, Clinton. She is employed in Gravenhurst at the Government Muskoka Centre and is a member, of the Ortllia Recreation Committee of the Association for the Mentally Handicapped. Australia and a visit to the Great Barrier Reef. The Clinton Rovers will be accompanied on their trip by leader Mr. Bechtel and his wife Elaine. She has been the director since the nursery's opening 10 years ago. M McEwing-McConnell has taken a position with the Durham Board of Education, com- pleting her last day in Tuckersmith on August 22.
