BELGRAVE - Ken Black, Jamie and Joan
and Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Wright all of Bran-
don, Manitoba, left for home on August 24
after spending a couple of weeks with Mr.
and Mrs. Stanley Black and other relatives.
The Belgrave T -Ball Alltars hosted
• Westfield T -Ball All -Stars on August 28;
although they went down in defeat they have
engaged for another game September 7.
This will be the, final game.. and will be
played at Westfield at 2 p.m.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Black received word of
their niece. Leila Byerland - of Saskatoon,
Saskatchewan that she had participated, in
the Canadian Summer Games held in St.
John, Newfoundland.
Florence •Coultes of Listowel, Clifford
Coultes, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Campbell,
Mrs. Alice Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Murray Scott
and Jeff all of Belgrave area and Ian, Ralph
'and Lorne Scott of RR 3 Blyth attended a
• Memorial Service for Peter M. Scott of Bar-
rie on August 19.4 Trinity Anglican Church
Barrie.
Mr. Scott died August 14 in his 80th year.
He was born and raised on the 6th conces-
sion of East Wawanosh' township and had
dedicated much of his life to the field of
Education until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife Dora ( Lee) and
two daughters, Gwen of Barrie and Mrs. Pat
Huck of Edmonton, two grandsons and one
sister Florence Coultes of ListoweL He was
predeceased by two brothers, Walter and
Borden Scott of East Wawanosh.
Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Jamieson and Doug
Hanna of Wingham, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Len-
nox of Listowel and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Hanna of Belgrave, returned home last
Wednesday from a bus trip to Chicago,
Milwaukee and a tour of the Dell in Wiscon-
sin.
Harold Keating visited last weekend with
his sister Mrs. Stanley Snell and his nieces,
Mrs. Shirley Guite and Mrs. Eileen Beecroft
all of London and NW' and Mrs='3eff,Brady

Sheila Andel ul1"is` holidaying with her
parents Mtti:'and Mrs. 'Ross Anderson before
returning,' to Wilfrid Laurier University
Waterloo.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Stonehouse visited
with their sister-in-law Viola Stonehouse of
London.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bosman enjoyed a
trip to Boston and Cape Cod.

The speaker is Rev. Victor Jamieson and
music will be supplied by membersof the
Melville Church Choir of Brussels.
Mr. and Mrs: Glyn Wide, Kimberly, Jen-
nifer and Trevor of Hamilton spent several
days with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Garner
Nicholson. Mr. and Mrs. Nicholson accom-
panied them to Hamilton where they will
visit for a few days.

LONDESBORO - Ten members of the
Happy Gang Seniors' Club will participate
in the Tri -County Seniors' Games,. to be
in St. Marys on September 23 and 24.
Jean Scott and -Jake McDougall will
compete in `the euchre matches, Jim and
Gloria McEwing will play shuffleboard and
Audrey Thampson and Clara Riley, will take
part in the :cribbage matches. Hazel Reid
and Jack Lee, Edythe Beacome and Jack
Armstrong will compete in bowling.
Lorne Bunking, president of the Happy
Gang Seniors' Club reported on the
upcoming games at the club meeting on
August 28. Twenty-one members attended
the meeting.
The previous meeting report was read by
Stella Adams: Treasurer Margaret Taylor
reported a bank balance of $75.24.
A thank you note was received from Addie
Bunking. Mildred Thompson sent a letter
reminding the seniors of the fall rally, to be
held at the Stanley Township Complex,
Varna, on October 17. Registration will be
held from 12 to 1 p.m., games and lunch will
follow.
Seniors will be offered half-price
admission to the Blyth Thresher Reunion on
Friday, September 6.
A vote of thanks was given to Mrs. Taylor
for her work as club treasurer since 1981.
Hazel Reid has assumed the position.

Jean Cameron Johnson of Parsuppany,
New Jersey stopped in Londesboro on
August 30. Her mother was Ila Campbell of
Winnipeg, whose father was Frank
Campbell of Londesboro. They built . the
home in 1898- where Dora Shobbrook lives.
.James Campbell was clerk and treasurer of
Hullett.
Mrs. Johnson toured the Shobbrook home
and also visited with Jack Armstrong at the
White Rose Restaurant.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry, Reid, Dale and Doug
from Varna are welcomed to the village.
They have purchased the White Rose
Restaurant and gas station from the
Dequettes. Olive Iyequetth', Darlene, Nathan
and Todd moved to Blyth where they have
bought the home of Cecil Wheeler.
Visiting last week with Edythe Beacom
and Laura Lyon were Mr. and Mrs. Clifford
Olson from Bark, River,.Michigan.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Sottiaux spent the
holiday weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Norman
('anpeau in Windsor. •
Jake McDougall, representing the
trapping association, was a guest on the
('KNX program All Outdoors on. Sunday.
Jake has been trapping since 1912, '
Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Garnet
Wright, Karen, Kim and Kevin were her
sister, Mr. and Mrs. John Siertsema,
Debbie', Ian and Duane of Bayfield.
