excellent concert given under the aus-
pices of Miss Tufts on the 17th, S. S.

from an attack of La Grippe and

Miss Mina Eggert spent a few days
visiting her parents. - Miss Florence
McLeod, of Corbett visited her sister

church have improved their property

yard. -Rev. Thibedeau delivered a

mon, Sunday, from Matt. 18 chapter,
15-17 verses, --Mr. Albert Pollock left
Monday for Granton. He will be
much missed in the Boston Methodist
choir. -Orval Thibedeau of Corbett
is spending a few days with. Miss Alice
Wilson.- Last Wednesday- one of
those happy events took place at the
residence of Mr, and Mrs. J, Gill,
Grand Bend, when there eldest
daughter, Miss Harriett, was united
in marriage to Mr. David W. Wilson.
The bride was attired in a simple but
pretty gown of pearl grey trimed with
white medallions and carried a boquet
of 'white hyacinths. She was assisted
by Miss M. Wilson sister of the groom
who also was becomingly attirred in a
castor shade gown and carried a
boquet of daffodils; The groom was
supported by J. Gill brother of the
bride, Rev. M. Berry, of Parkhill,
preformed the ceremony after which
all sat down to a dainty tea, Relati-
ves were present from Exeter, Ailsa
Craig, Grand Bend, and Greenway,

by all, who knew him. He was a man
of but few words and one who has
proved himself to be a kind neighbor
and honored friend he was a staunch
member of the Methodist church and
was ready when the summons came to
bid adieu to all the transitory things
of life and soar away to meet the loved
ones, who were awaiting him. His
remains were laid to rest between that
of his beloved nartner and daughter,
Alice, who bctlz predeceased him some
years ago. He leaves a family of eight
children, who with alarge circle of

PLEASANT GATHERING,- The com-
fortable home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Kernick, concession 4, -Osborne, -was
on Monday evening, March 30th, filled
with merriment, the occasion being .
the celebration of the tenth anniver- •.
sary of their wedding. Early in the
evening the rigs began to pour in
from all directions until nearly eighty
of the friends and neighbors of Mr.
and Mrs. Kernick, had. assembled
where they spent a most enjoyable
time. Mr. and Mrs. Kernick received
many useful and valuable presenter,
The entertainment of the evening was -
mostly of a musical nature, there be-
ing present a great many musicians
and singers. With music, story, jok-
es,
okes, conundrums and comical plays,
the time sped all too . quickly. After
almost sumptuous and well provided
repast of oysters and everything that
the most fastidious appetite could des
sire, the music and other amusements
were again resumed for a short time.

the company joined hands and sang
;the old familiar song, "Auld Lang
Syne," when they took.leave of their
genial host and hostess, wishing
them continued health, strength and
