Often baseball teams converge on a spot.
for a weekend, oe soccer teams. will pari
ticipate in a weekend tournament, but
seldom can all of these sports be found in
one place at the same time:
For the second consecutive year Clinton
Recreation, in conjunction with sporting
organizations, will be providing a weekend
filled with baseball, ball hockey, and soccer.
One element that makes this extra special
is that it is.not•geared for one particular age
group: Everyone will be participating in
their desired summer sport.
Adults and children will be picking up
baseball bats, kicking the soccer ball,
shooting at the ball hockey goalies, and of
course, eating the barbecued chicken.
So what's In store this weekend? Well, ac-
tion gets underway at 6 p.m. on July 5 with
minor soccer: At 7 p.m. Clinton's Communi-
ty Park, will be the place for a Squirt girls'
game that will see Clinton face Stanley
Township. At 8:30 p.m. the local Midget
boys will take on rival Goderich.
Sport
Inside the arena from 7-10, p.m. will be
roller skating.
The men's ball hockey tournament will
start bright and early the following morn-
ing, running from 8 a.m.-11 p.m. From 12-2
p.m. the men will leave the rink while the
minor boys' teams compete.
Minor ball garnes will be held all day at
community park and Clinton Public School.
Clinton teams will playteams from
Goderich, Sarnia, Listowel,- Exeter,
Londesboro and Stratford.
While the boys and girls are busy on the
diamonds the men will be playing soccer.
They have been scheduled to play between
4:30 and 7 : 30 p.m.
However, one of the biggest events will
take place at 2 p.m. when the Great Lakes
Senior All-Star game gets underway. Spec-
tators can watche this game at community
park.
Another big baseball attraction will take
place at 7:30 p.m. with the Colts' reuniTh
game. The '70s vs. '80s. All -Ontario Senior
teams will take to the `diamond with Pat
Langille and Bruce Collins umpiring.
All of this, plus more, will take place at
the community park, arena and Clinton
Public School. Even if you don't play, come
out and cheer on a neighbor or friend!
New summer programs announced
The Annual Lake Huron Zone Sportsfest
will be hosted this year by the Town of
Exeter.. Any local teams or individuals
wanting to participate in Sportsfest '85 are
asked to centact Ken Colquhoun or the
recreation director.
Fit Kids
Fit Kids? The Clinton Recreation
Committee will be offering a "FIT KIDS"
program for' children ages 8-12 years. This
unique and exciting program will provide
participants with an opportunity, to improve •
physical fitness level, improve performance
in sports and stimulate -motivate to
participate in fitness related activities. This
program will be instructed by Peggy Jones
. (qualified physical education graduate) and
promises to be a rewarding and enjoyable
program.

limited. to 20 participants per' session (10
weeks).,Make plans to have your children be
part of FIT KIDS!
Tennis Lessons
. The Clinton Recreation Committee will be
offering both adult .and youth tennis lessons.
The instructional program will,be open to
individuals ages eight nd over.
Participants will be required to provide
their own tennis racquet and three tennis
balls. Should you be interested in enrolling

8:30 on the C.H.S.S. Tennis Courts.
Playground News
The Clinton Recreation Summer
Playground program will start Monday,
July 1. The program is open to children ages
three to 12 years and will offer participants
with a, wide variety of play, sports, art and
plain old fun activities.
Aerobics
Any adults interested in enrolling in an
Aerobics Class (evening) are encouraged to
contact the Clinton Recreation Office at 482-
• 3398. Peggy Jones will be. instructing this
excellent fitness program, and it is geared
for both men and women.
The Goderich
10 KM Classic Run
The Goderich Recreation Department is
hosting the Goderich 10 KM. Classic Run on
July 20. It is open to runners and joggers of
all ° ages. Please contact the Clinton
Recreation Office for more information.
Blue Jay Tickets
Toronto Blue;Jay tickets are going on sale
July 3. Tickets 'are available on a first come, -
first soave basis and must be paid for, no
reservations,' Tickets are for Wednesday,
August 7, against the Baltimore Orioles and
are available at the ;Clinton Recreation
Office.

"Mighty Mite"
Ball Hockey
Attention boys ages 10 and under! The
"Mighty Mite" Boys Ball Hockey Program
will be held Saturday afternoons or weekday
afternoons at the Clinton Arena. Players
must wear helmets, hockey gloves, and long
pants (sweat pants are recommended).
Everyone must play in this supervised and
exciting recreational sport. This program
will start in thenext two or three weeks. For
more information contact Kent Colquhoun
or the recreation director.
Arts and Crafts
The Clinton Community Arts and Crafts
Co-ordinators will be hdlding workshops
Monday afternoons from July 15 to•August
26, 2:30 - 4 p.m. Children ages five 'and up.
are welcome to participate. For more
information contact the recreation office or
the Arts Co-ordinators. •
Blyth Festival Trip
The Clinton Community Arts Co-
ordinators are planning a seniors bus trip
August 1 (matinee performance only) to the
Blyth Festival 20 tickets are available.
