DANCING 9 PM -1 AM TO
"Randy Satchell Band"
A play written about Goderich Township
that went on to become world famous is
returning to its roots this summer. The
Farm Show will have 10 performances in the
Goderich Township shed between July 11
and 19 as part of the township's 150th birth-
day celebrations.
Originally conceived, written and produc-
ed in 1972 by Passe Muraille, a Toronto-
based theatre group, the play went on to ma-
jor theatres in Canada, including the Strat-
ford Festival and the National Arts Centre.
It subsequently toured the British Isles,
became an award-winning motion picture,
and was the subject of a CBC television
documentary.
Many of the original cast, ineluding direc-
tor Paul Thd,mpson and cast members Anne
Anglin, Miles Potter, David Fox, and Fina
MacDonnell, who have since gone on to star-
ring roles in theatre, television, and film,
will be returning for the revival.
Based on the lives of residents of the
Goderich Township and Clinton areas, The
Farm Show was enthusiastically received

vation Hall Jazz Band since its first ap-
pearance at Stratford in 1976.
The unique sounds of the Preservation
Hall Jazz Band hearken back to the roots of
the Dixieland jazz of New Orleans. The
musicians, all contemporaries of such
legendary names as Louis Armstrong, Bunk
Johnson, King Oliver, Bessie Smith and Jel-
ly Roll Morton, provide great entertainment
while preserving a distinctive tradition of
American music.
-It is a great delight to have this unex-
pected opportunity to present the Preserva-
tion Hall Jazz Band again," said Festival
Executive Director Gerry Eldred. "We had
an open date at the Festival Theatre and it
coincided with an open date for the group as
well."
The concert will take place July 22, 8 p.m.
in the Festival Theatre.

Springtime is .. .
S is for sunshine, warm and bright.
P is for puddles, splashing in the sind.
R is for rain, pitter-pattering- on rooftops,
Irises blooming in the warm summer light,
New life for lambs and chicks,
Gardens growing green and bright.
Tnridybears picnic on a warm, sunny day, .
I like the irises blooming bright,
Merry tunes the birds start to sing,
Everyday I walk outside and find new life
everywhere.
