RIED WOMAN,S PRIVILEGE BS Honor' Judge Finkle, of Wood - oak, had before him recently a question, which. when decided, will be of general interest to. the legal pro- fession throughout the country. It was as to whether or not a married woman can be committed for nonap- pearance to answer a judgment sum- mons. At the last sitting of the Division Court, His Honor made an. eider to commit Mrs. Buck, in the suit of Wilson vs. Buck. An • applica- tion was made by Solicitor Bicknell to set aside the order on the ground,. among others, that the suit was not instituted according to the praotise of the court against a married woman and therefore no order should be made. The setting aside of the order was also asked for because the case came under McLeod vs. Emigb, in which the judge of the Division Courtin which the case was tried made an order for the commitment of a married woman, which order was subsequently set aside by the full court. This case was relied upon in support of the applica- tion made to set aside the order for contempt in tbe present case. Judge Finkle held that the present caee was distinguishable from ,the cases cited, and refused to set aside tbe order un- less defendant's .co unsel undertook to produce the defendant for eiramina- tion in pursuance of the practise of the court. - It was subsequently ar- ranged that the defendant should be produced rnless Me. "Y had for a long time been thinking of trying the Tasteless Samaria Prescription treatment on my husband for his drinking isabits, but I was afraid he would discover that I was giving himmedicine, and the thought unnerved me. I hesitated for nearly a week, but one day when he came home very much intoxicated and lam week's salary nearly all spent, I threw off all fear and determined to make an effort to save our home from the ruin I saw coming, at all hazards. Inuit for your Tasteless Samaria Pre- scription, and put it in his coffee as directed nest morning and watched and prayed for the result At noon I gave him more and also at supper. Ile never suspected a thing, and I then boldly keptrigbt on giving it regularly, as Iin discovered some- thing that set every nerve n my body tingling with hope and happiness, and I could see a bright tutee spread out before me—a peaceful, happy home, a share in the good things of life, an attentive, loving husband, comforts and everything else dear to a woman's heart ; for my husband had told me that whiskey was vile stuff and he was taking a dislike to it, It was only too true, for before I had given him the full course he had stopped drinking alto- gether, but I kept giving him the medicine till it was gone, and then sent for another IM, to have on hand if he should relapse, as be had done from promises before. He never has and I em writing you this letter to tell you bow thankful I am. I honestly believe it will cure the worst cases."
