It's a fantastic idea which has only just
recently caught on and become quite
popular. Imagine being able to enjoy a fine
meal, and then later watch live theatre all
without having to leave your seat. Dinner
Theatre has arrived in Huron County.
On Friday, May 24 and Saturday, May 25
at 6:30 pm., Central Huron Secondary
School will again be offering THE DINNER
THEATRE EXPERIENCE for you and
your friends to enjoy. Remember last year
when the Drama Club presented "SQUAB-
BLES" preceded by a wonderful meal of
barbecued filet mignon, fresh • garden
vegetables, and chocolate mousse as the
featured dessert. It was a huge success that
had the whole community talking for weeks
afterwards. People said we should do it
again next year, and so we resolved to do
just that.
This year Dinner Theatre patrons will en-
joy a meal featuring a seafood buffet (with
all the best from the "deep blue") and roast
beef carved to your liking by our talented
chefs. The dessert will be a sinfully delicious
English fruit trifle served with freshly brew-
ed coffee or tea. The meal alone would be
reason enough to attend the event, but we
are offering still more.
"SUBJECT TO CHANGE", a three act
comedy by Jules Tasca, will entertain the
audience after the meal. The play revolves
around the antics of an unmarried sister and
brother, Gertrude and Maynard Bassett.
Gertrude is prudish, capable, and hard
working.
She is the "pillar" of the community and
says only "fudge" when she gets upset.
Maynard is completely dependent on his
sister. He is fat, cunning, and sounds like a
plumber who has lost his number four
wrench when he gets upset. When Gertrude
decides to marry, leaving Maynard to fend
for himself, the situation becomes
traumatic. In an attempt to break up Ger-
trude's romance, Maynard runs the gamut,
making obscene phone calls to the
bridgegroom's 80 year old lush of a mother,
outrageously insulting the groom to be,
sneaking off to New York to trip out on ISD,
and finally sneaking back .home to sulk in
the attic. When all efforts fail, he tries one

last ingenious ploy which will truly have you
laughing in the aisles at the sparkling
oneliners which dust keep on corning.
Here's the clincher which is bound to at-
tract everyone: for both the meal and the
play, the total cost for a ticket is only $12.95.
It's a fantastic combination that simply
can't be beat for value and entertainment.
Tickets are on sale now and are going fast.
If you plan to attend "SUBJECT TO
CHANGE", you must reserve your tickets
now as no tickets will be sold at the door. To
reserve or purchase tickets, please call the
school at 4R2-3471 nn later than Tuesday
May 21st. Any later and you co :Id be disap-
pointed.
Why not take a moment right now to con-
sult with your friends, organize a group, and
reserve a table at this year's C.H.S.S. Din-
ner Theatre. We've been rehearsing now for
over a month, the set is nearing completion,
and everything will be just right come open-
ing night. Don't be one of those people who
said last year "I really wish I'd gone". Take
the time now td order your tickets, and then
get set for a fantastic evening of wonderful
food and live hilarious theatre.
The cast of "Subject to Change" are from two. o'clock, Don Hearn, Nina Pother, Steve
Lippincott, Rose Hamm, Paul Lippincott and Allison Dunn. the play is featured in Cen- .
tral Huron Secondary School's (CHSS) dinner theatre on May 24 and 25 at 6:30 at the high
school. (James Friel photo)
