HURONVIEW - Anglican Communion
was held April 9 in the chapel. Rev. Gordon
Simmons conducted the service, assisted by
Stu Taylor. Frank Bissett presided at the
organ.
Students of Grades 5 to 8 and their
teachers from Blyth Public School
presented a program of music and song on
April 10. Mr. Bill Black made the an-
nouncements and introduced the numbers.
Conducting the students was Mrs. Laurie
Little and the accompanist was Mrs. Shirley
Vincent. Much time, effort and of course
dedication go into the making of a fine choir
like this, and the result is certainly rewar-
ding. The program consisted of several
lilting tunes and perhaps the highlights
were KJds Are Music, 'fake A Little Time,
Touch The Wind, Edelweiss and Gypsy
Rover.
For fun and relaxation, the Huronview
team was at Crown Lanes Bowling on April
11 to try their luck at knocking down the
pins.
Mid -week Bible Study was also held this
afternoon with the leader Mrs. Prouty in
charge. Elsie Henderson was at the organ.
Prayer time and requests took place follow-
ed by a duet sung by Margaret McQueen
and Elsie Henderson and accompanied by
Frank Bissett. A quartette was sung by
Shirley Prouty, Deanne Moody, Erline
Stuart and Lori Culnan, followed by these
ladies giving their testimony. A visualized
hymn was sung with Erline Stuart in
charge. The message was presented by
Deanna Moody.
A gala event took place Friday afternoon,
when some of our male residents put on an
Easter parade of fall fashions in hats. It was
a hilarious fun time as the models strutted Aik
about, displaying their hats. The style of hat
ranged anywhere from a chamber pot
bedecked with kitchen gadgets, to earrings
using sink stoppers and electric fuses. The
participants got a lot of applause and
laughter as they paraded down the center of
`ie hall, showing off . their prized posses-
sions. Grace Jutzi played salon music on the
piano during the show, 'and Frank Bissett
did the commentary. Following the parade,
an impromptu program was put on by the
residents. Those' who took part were Mabey
Scott, Grace Peck, Mike Botermans, Grace
Duggan, Frank Bissett, Elsie Henderson
and the Huronview choir.
A welcome is extended to Stella Mann,
James Landesborough who have come to
reside at , Huronview, and Charlie Brown
who is here on vacation care.
