Three draws of 24 mix- ed rinks competed on ice that at tunes ap- peared lumpy enough to give the rocks a life of their own, but as spokesman Ron Sellars said, "The fellowship was fantastic - as usual", and nobody seemed to mind. The lst Draw and overall trophy was cap- tured by the Matt Haney rink of Brenda and Ken Dalton and Gladys Rock, all from the wuu euuntry east and northeast of Seaforth. The 2nd Draw went to the Steve Robinson rink of Wingham, and the 3rd Draw to the Carm Nixon crew from Ilderton. A turkey dinner and dance followed; while the raffle prize of •a 20 -inch color TV was won, by Ethel Taylor of Clinton: Members are reminded that the Annual Meeting, Election of Officers, and dinner is on Saturday, April 20. Tickets may be pur- chased from any member of the Curling Club executive. Oops! Our newsroom "gremlins" had a ball with last week's Vanastra Report - headlining the story "Air band competition in Vanastra when actually it was held at the Central Huron Secondary School, under the hard- working sponsorship of the CHSS Students' Council. Those same gremlins left out a line, caus- ing some confusion over the fact that Head Swim Coach Cindy Connolly was thanking the Vanastra Lioness Club for their donation to the swim team; PLUS telling us that the Vanastra Rec. Centre had also donated $100 towards equipment for the team. Sorry 'bout that! The Spring Program at the Rec. Centre is now underway, with something for everyone, as usual. Complete detai s appear elsewhere in this week's paper. Of special note is the National Lifeguard Survival Course of advanced training for lifeguards. It is a 40 -hour course, held at the Vanastra Pool over two weekends, April 26 - 28, and May 10 - 12. More information may be had by calling 482-3544. June Lee, Assistant Manager at the Rec. Centre reminds us that Bingo gets under- way at the Centre every Tuesday at 8 p.m. Winners on April 2nd included Val Miller, Linda Reinhart and Elmer Lee, all of Clin- ton, who each won $100 in Share -the -Wealth games. while Kathy Rody of Goderich and The final bonspiel of the season the Spring Thaw was held at the Vanastra Club last weekend.
