Chr' s is Sound... the so hildren opening presents; the sound of adults talking around the fire. Christmas is Loving... loving is when your grandmother or grand- father hugs or kisses you, or when you are thinking of God. Christmas is Lights... the sparkling lights of a Christmas tree or the light in your heart. Christmas is Jesus... remembering His birth, telling old stories by the fire. Christmas is Laughter... the sound of people telling jokes, laughing at kids. Christmas is Happiness... happy people giving presents, happy people receiving presents. Christmas is Family... family get-togethers, laughing and chatting, praying and loving. Christmas is Good Smells... the fresh smell of Christmas trees, or the smell of good food; the :smell of new fallen snow. Christmas is Fun... singing, dancing, eating and decorating the tree. Christmas is Giving... clothes that are warm for the cold winter coming; dolls that say "Mommy, Mom- my."; nice white skates that you just can't wait to use. Christmas is Sounds... the beautiful sounds from the choir; the sound of people saying, "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year"; the lovely sound of people carolling just down the street and the joyful sound of bells ringing Christmas is Jesus.,. the little Baby that was born on December 25; we thank Jesus for the wonderful things he has given us. . Christmas is Decorations... hanging on the Christmas tree; lights on the spOciattime houses everywhere you look; decorations hanging on the poles in town. Christmas is Trees... the little pine tree sitting in the living room; the lovely star placed at the very top of the tree; the pretty tree we sit around to sing carols. Just remember that is... Love. Tina Cayer Huron Centennial School Gr. 5 Christmas meaning C is for Christ, our saviour at birth, H is for -happiness, which is shared at Christmas, R is for the renewal of Christ, I is for insense, one of the gifts of the three wisemen, S is for the star, that guided the three wisemen, T is for travel, for the donkey that carried Mary, M is for Mary, the Mother of Jesus, A is for angels, who spread the message of the birth of Jesus, S is for the shepherds, and their flocks. It is giving gifts and remembering Christ was born. A little child likes Santa Claus and. believes in him giving gifts. Older children and grown-ups should focus on our lord Jesus Christ. Everyone in our school is exchanging candy -grams to help the starving of Ethiopia. When I was in Loas, people didn't give gifts to one another as we do in Canada. Children can show the true meaning of Christmas by loving, sharing and, caring for their Mom and Dad. Everybody talks about decking the halls with good cheer, exchang- ing gifts and visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads, but do they really know the true meaning of Christmas. I diten wonder what goes through people's heads on this joyous morn. People are greedy when this Sending a gift of warm Christmas Wishes to our many fine friends. I know Christmas is a time for joy, but for what reason? Is it all the gifts from Santa or being around others that gives us that feeling to hug someone. I know some people believe that the reason we celebrate Christmas is because Christ was born and that is very true. People should be happy with the many gifts they get from God. Remember love is the true mean- ing of Christmas along with Christ's birth.
