Christmas celebrated many ways
Christmas Eve At Our House
It's Christmas Eve. What are you doing?
In our house the wood stove is giving off heat
and the tree is all decorated with presents
underneath.
My mom is sitting by the tree calling out
names, "Nancy, Lisa, Steven..." We kids
tear open the presents until the room is
almost full of paper. After all the presents
are opened, we go get some boxes and clean.
up. We sit there by the fire looking at our
presents and the after awhile, us kids go to
bed.

The Way My Family Celebrates Christmas
How do you celebrate Christmas? Every
year on Christmas Day, my family,
celebrates Christmas at our Oma and Opa's
place. But first we go to church because
Christmas wouldn't,be if Christ wasn't born.
At Oma and Opa's place, we get to see all
our relatives. As soon as everybody is there,
my grandparents give us our presents
(usually chocolate letters and socks.) Then
we have a pot -luck lunch which is at about 2
o'clock.
Later on at night time we sing Christmas
carols. After that we go home.

Our Christmas
Klunk! Klunk! Klunk! Dad comes down
the stairs with our artificial tree. Unlike
some families we set up our tree quickly.
Some cousins and our grandparents come
over. We all sit in the warmth of the lighted
fireplace.

The kids get chocolate letters and other
presents. After we eagerly tear the wrapp-
ing paper off our gifts, we play with them
awhile.
We then sing carols upstairs with Mom
playing on the organ. Soon we unwillingly
trudge off to bed and drift off to sleep. .

Our Christmas Tradition
Do you have a Christmas tradition? At our
house we have .a tree with decorations on it
and presents underneath it. We also have
decorations around the house. .
When we get up Christmas morning, we
open our stockings and talk about what we
got. Then we have to eat breakfast so that
we can go to church for Christmas service.
When we get home from church, we open
our other presents. We talk about them and
look them over. We usually have a special
dinner, sometimes with a candle. We also
watch some Christmas shows on T.V. Then
it's bedtime and that's the end of Christmas
Day. •-

What is Christmas?
Christmas is Loving...
the love you give to yourfamily,
the love you put into presents,
the love you have for Jesus.
Christmas is Giving...
the gifts yob give to each other,
the gifts you wrap with tender care,
the gifts you make with all your love.
Christmas is Fragrance...
the fragrance of cakes in the oven,
the fragrance of pine trees,
the fragrance of perfume on your first
Christmas together.
Christmas is Joy...
the joy in your family's eyes,
the joy in seeing their happiness,
the joy of giving.
Christmas is Singing...
the singing of carols,
the singing of hearts,
the singing of angels telling of the birth.
Christmas is Shining..,.
the shining of hearts,
the shining of house lights,
the shining of faces.
That's what Christmas. means to me. What
does Christmas mean to you? '

If I Had A $100...
I would get my mother a figurine for $50
because she likes them very much. She
would do anything for afigurine. I would get
her a new purse for $30 because she needs a
new one.
If I had a $100...I would take her out to din-
ner because she loves. todine out and party -
warty. '
I'd like to put it in my bank account but I
want to spend it on mother.
Why do 1 want to spend it on mother?
Because I LOVE her! (I'm just wondering
what she's getting me.)
