Delegates frorn Clinton
attend annual convention
Two delegates from the Auxiliary to
Clinton Public Hospital, Joyce Chilton and
Catherine McKnight were among the 600
delegates win) attended the 74th Annual
Convention of the Hospital Auxiliaries
Association of Ontario, at the downtown
• 'Holiday Inn. Toronto. November 25 - 27, Two
hundred hospital auxiliaries were
represented.
Fred Davis, host of CBC's Front Page
Challenge, chaired the Sunday afternoon
educational session and panel discussion on
diabetes.
Diversified topics were discussed during,
concurrent sessions and included heart and
stroke patients; quality assurance in the
accreditation process; a writer's workshop;
reality orientation; how to invest funds;
developing leadership skills (chaired by
Peggy Menzies of Clinton); volunteering in
paediatrics, and fund raising exchange
ideas for small hospitals (chaired by Donna
Woods of Clinton).
At the annual banquet, 54 life
memberships were awarded. June Boussey
of Clinton inscribed the names of the
recinients in calligraphy on each of the

Maggie May Boyce
A Stanley Township native, Maggie May
Boyce of RR 1 Varna, died at Parkwood
Hospital in London on December 16. She was
84 years old.
Born in Stanley on April 30, 1900, she was
the daughter of Wilson Armstrong and
Catherine McClinchey.
She married Franklin Edgar Boyce in
London on July 20, 1924. He died in 1982.
Mrs. Boyce is survived by seven children,
Mrs. Harry ( Viola) Haskell of Hanover
Mrs. Tom ( Grace) Young of Goderich, Mary
Garner of London, Harvey of London,
James of Bayfield, Clayton of Goderich and
Kenneth of RR 1 Varna. Also surviving are
23 grandchildren and 10 great
grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Boyce was
predeceased by one daughter Mrs. Merton
( Ila) Good, one son Franklin, three sisters
Mrs. Jack ( Annie 1 Bryan, Mrs. Jack ( Rose)
Collins, Mrs. Victor ( Marjorie) Boyce and
fivF hrntherc William Pitney. .lames,
Robert and John Armstrong.
Mrs. Boyce was a member of the Goshen
United Church, Rev. Wilena Brown
conducted funeral services on Deceiiber 18
at Ball and Falconer Home in Clinton.
Interment followed in Clinton.
Pallbearers were four grandsons, David
Boyce of London,' Larry Boyce of Thorndale,
Brian Carter of Hanover, Ernie Good Of
Goderich and two nephews, Dalton and
Elgin Boyce, both of Goderich.
Clarence H. Magee
Funeral services were held at Beattie
Funeral Home, Clinton on December 11 for
Clarence H. Magee. Rev. Norman Pick of-
ficiated and interment was held at the Clin-
certificates.
On Tuesday, delegates heard sessions on
the changing picture of long term care, and
the use of music therapy in health care.
The teenage volunteer session was held
November 23 and 24. Six teenagers from
Clinton - Carole Roorda, Kim Deline,
Suzanne Walker, Donna Pickard, Vicki
Weigel and Brenda Tideswell, journeyed to
Torontb by train, accompanied by Mrs.
Ruth McLeon of Clinton and Hilda Bell of
Bayfield.
They enjoyed a pool party Friday evening,
followed by a film on long term care and•
round table discussions. Saturday morning
was ;a presentation by Ronald McDonald
House, and a session on "Relating to
Persons facing death".
Rev. Robert Rumball, executive director
of the Bob Rumball Mission for the Deaf,
gave ari inspiring luncheon address.
Anne Massie of North York, and Janyth
Mowatt of Sarnia won the two H.A.A.
Student Awards, and were presented at the
luncheon. The teen program concluded with
tours of downtown Metro Toronto hospitals.

Victoria Hospital in London on December 8.
Born on August 2, 1903 in Oakville, he was
the son of Rev. Herbert S. and Mary Helen
Magee.
In 1937 he married the former Doris E.
Pegg in London and the couple lived in
Toronto, Wingham, Ottawa and Rothesay,
New Brunswick. They moved to Clinton in
December, 1955.
Mr. Magee worked in accounting. He was
active in the St. John Ambulance, the Boy
Scout movement and was a member of the
Clinton Horticultural Society.
He is survived by his wife and three sons,
Kenneth of Clinton and Corunna, Ronald of
Kirkland Lake and Clarence of Aurora.
Mr. Magee was predeceased by one
brother Herbert Dwight Magee.
Annie Grace Steep
Annie Grace Steep of 343 Victoria Street,
Clinton, died at her home on December 13.
She was 69 years old.
She was born in Colborne Township on
September 20, 1915, the daughter of Howard
Joseph, Edward and the former Nellie Viola
Lippitt.
She married William Edward Steep on
September 23, 1933. He died in 1976.
Mrs. Steep is survived by seven children -
Mrs. Joseph (Barbara) Van Damme of
Clinton, Mrs. Pat (June) Shanahan of
London, Mrs. Douglas (Linda) Smith of
West Palm Beach, Florida, Mrs. George
( Debbie) Bromley of Huron Park, Kenneth
of Seaforth, Leonard and Dennis, both of
Clinton.
She is also survived by three brothers,
Emmerson Edward of Clinton, Benson
Edward of Huron Park and James Edward
of Clinton. Also surviving are 16
grandchildren and seven great
grandchildren.
Mrs. Steep was a member of St. Andrew's
Presbyterian Church in Clinton.
Rev. Bill Barber of St. Andrew's
conducted the funeral service on December
.15 at Ball and Falconer Funeral Home -in
Clinton. Interment followed at the Clinton
Cemetery.

Mrs. Marjorie Spiegelberg of Goderich
died in St. Joseph's Hospital, London on
Wednesday, November 28 at the age of 69.
She was born in East Wawanosb Township
on March 9, 1915 to Albert and Amelia
( Barkley) Campbell.
The late Mrc Spiepelhgrg had been a
registered nurse at the • Clintop Public
Hospital for 26 years, retiring in 1979.
She was a member of North Street United
Church in Goderich and the UCW of that
church.
She is survived, by her husband, Arthur
Spiegelberg; four children, Barkley of
Washington, D.C., Bryan of London, Anne
McCartney of Goderich and Allan of
London; two brothers, Ken Campbell of
Dungannon and Don Campbell of Goderich;
one sister, Jean Abel of Fingal; and nine
grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at McCallum
Funeral Home in Goderich on Saturday,
December 1 at 2 p.m. The Reverend Robert
O. Ball of North Street United Church
officiated.
Interment was in the Maitland Cemetery,
Goderich.

flower girl. The groom's attendants were

Haytor was the organist and soloists were
the bride's aunts, Sandy Haytor, Norene
Haytor, Anne Lavis, Marg Haytor and Mar-
