St. Andrews
Candlelight Service
By Helen Owen
On Dec. 16 St. Andrew's Church was filled
to capacity, and as the cars pulled up out-
side the candlelight gave a promise of what
was to come.
Inside the church the cross was sur-
mounted by a star, lights shone at the back
of the choir, and in the corner a huge
Christmas tree sparkled.
Then the lights were dimmed and the 24
choir ,members made their way down the
aisles singing "0 Come all ye faithful" and
carrying lighted candles.
The service which followed was conducted
by the Rev. Paul Murray with prayers and
scripture readings. However, the major
part was contributed, by the choir accom-
panied on the organ by Miss Molly Cox and
guest pianist, Mr. Don Moffat. The con-
gregation joined in the well loved Christmas
Carols and interspersed were old and new
version of carols and songs extolling the
Christmas theme. The choir's presentation
of this seasonal program reflected their en-
' thusiasm which their listeners shared. They
gave of their very best and it was truly ap-
preciated. Of special note was Mr. Len
Carter's rendering of "0 Come, 0 Come,
Emmanuel".
At the close of the service a cordial invita-
tionwas extended to all present to meet for
refreshment in the Church Hall.

Minor Hockey
On Dec. 16 in a game between the Zurich
Atoms and the Bayfield Atoms, the locals
went down to a 3-2 defeat. Two weeks ago
the situation was reversed when the
Bayfield team won 4-1.
However, this time the Zurich players
brought their two best lines as well as some
players from another team. Nevertheless it
was an exciting game with Bayfield's
goalie, Bobby Fisher, playing an excellent
game.
For Zurich, Jamie Baker scored one goal
and Steven Geiger scored two. Jennifer
Scott and Andrew Dunn scored for Bayfield.
