Missionary Chapel
The 'Hann Chapel Missionary Church
held their annual Christmas program last
Friday evening with Mrs. Heather
McCown* the program director.
The program wa6 opened with prayer by
Douglas .Can hell followed by the song,
4 is He? by the members of the Sun-
da- 'aehOol. -
The nursery clasp, with their teachers
Marilyn and Jim Campbell, sang two songs,
"Away in a Manger" and "Jesus Loves
Me". ' be kindergarten class, with their
teachers Dave and Debra Rodges, sang the
song "Praise Him, Praise Him". The
primary class, with teacher Dianne Baan,
gave a recitation, "I Wonder", and sang the
hymn, "J -0-y, J -o -y". The junior class, with
teacher John McCowan, presented a recita-
. tion and play, "Christmas Is".
A duet, "Redeeming Love", was sung by
Dianne Baan and Debra Rodges.
The Missionary Cadet Choir with their
director, Mrs. Pam Thiessen, sang "0 Come
all ye Faithful".
Eric Campbell played a piano solo, "0 Ho-
ly bight"
The Youth Group, with leader Jim Camp-
bell, presented a play, "The Stable".
The adult class presented "The First
Christmas" with Mrs. Debra Lawlor, Dave
Baan and Dave Thiessen playing the parts.
The adult choir sang the song, "In the Cave"
and the closing prayer was given by Pastor
Thiessen.
Knox Church
A large congregation attended the morn-
ing service last Sunday at Knox United
Church and Keith Hallam lit the third can-
dle reoresentine "Peace".
Mr. Gary Shuttleworth was in charge of
the service and his message was entitled,
"Lord of the Lowly".
Both junior and senior choirs sang
Christmas anthems and a trio of junior
boys, Stuart Bakker, Ryan Middelkamp and
Kevin Webster, sang, "Along the Desert
TrailThe organist, Mrs. Gordon Gross, was
assisted by Mrs. Barry Millian and Anita
Gross and Leona Cunningham at the piano.
The ushers were Greg Park and Rodger
Cunningham.
Candy cane treats were given to the junior
congregation with leaders being Mrs. Glen
Webster and Tammy Shuttleworth.
Plans are being made to present a
Christmas Eve pageant on December 24 at 8
p.m. and the annual Sunday school concert
will be held on Saturday evening, December
22 at 8 p.m. Everyone is welcome at both
services.
Sunday School pageant at St. James'

MIDDLETON - The Morning Prayer Ser-
vice in St. James' Anglican Church on
December 16 was well , attended, being
White Gift Sunday and the Sunday School
Christmas Pageant.
During the singing of the first Carol the
children were led into church by Star bearer
Matthew Steenstra. Rev. A. Bell gave the
Bidding prayer and asked Brad Wammes,
John Vanderhaar and Shanna Schilbe to
light the Advent wreath. Reading the
lessons were Estelle Wise, Blanche Deeves,
Bill Steenstra.
The children also read lessons too. They
were Bill Storey, Jeff Wain, Angie
Vanderhaar, Jim Storey and Rev. Bell.
The pageant performers were: Julie
• Miller as Gabriel and Tessa Steenstra as
Mary. Pageant players for the Birth of
Christ were: Mary, Tessa Steenstra;
Joseph, Jennifer Dutot; Animals; Leanne
Wain, Doug Miller, Brad Vanderhaar, Mat-
thew.Steenstra.
White Gift Collection was made by Brad •
Wammes and John Vanderhaar. They
brought the gifts to the altar. The offering
was received by Ray Wise and Jim Storey.
Pageant Prayer for The message to the
shepherds were: Angels, Julie Miller, Shan-
non Schilbe, Jenny Miller; Shepherds,
Leanne Wammes, Leanne Wain, Conrad
Schilbe.
In The Wise Men visit Jesus, players were
- Wisemen, Jeff Wain, John Vanderhaar,
Brad Wammes.
Away in a Manger was sung with the Sun-
day School singing the first verse and the
congregation joining in. Children sang We
wish you a Merry Christmas.
This performance was a first in St. James'
Middleton in several years, and was enjoyed
by everyone. Thanks to Audrey Middleton,

Blessing of the Crib will take place at 7 p.m.
A service for children and parents.
On December 24 at 8 p.m. the Christmas
Communion and Choral will be held.
On December 23, Christmas gifts will be
given to Sunday School children. Watch for
a surprise visitor.
If there are shut-ins who would like their
Christmas Communion at home, let the rec-
