In September of 1977 a policy was made. It
stated that there would be no Sunday morn-
ing activities other than adult tournaments
• and the policy is still in affect.
At their December meeting, council had
the option of making a bylaw which would
discontinue any Sunday morning activities,
but decided to concur with the board's deci-
sion.
"Sunday events help to keep the arena
from getting too far into the red," said Court,
cillor Lloyd Sippel in summation.
BLYTH - The Blyth Christian Reformed
Church and the Blyth Ministerial Associa-
tion expressed their feelings to council and
the District Community Centre Board con-
cerning the scheduling of Sunday morning
activities at the local arena. They requested
that the schedule be set up in a way which
would not interfer with times of worship. In
the letter from the Blyth Christian Reform-
ed Church, it was suggested that the. board
consider closing the arena for the entire
day.
The board discussed the letters at their
last meeting and "felt nhlieatPA to r•nntinne

Peewees lose to Lucan
Saturday, December 15 Blyth Peewees
played an exceptionally good game, but
came out on the score sheet losing to Lucan
5to2.
During the first period Lucan got a head
start corning up with three goals.
Blyth kept Lucan from scoring in the se-
cond period (even during several penalties) .
The third period saw another even match
with both teams skating well. Blyth goals
were scored by Shane Taylor, assisted by
Jeff Bromley, and Arthur Bos unassisted.
Lucan also scored twice.
Once again excellent goal tending by Mike
Cronyn kept the Blyth team in the game.
The boys play again in Blyth on Saturday
at 11:30 against Mitchell. Come out and
show your support.
