Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Beimers
Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Beimers are shown in
the photograph as they were married on
December 16, 50 years ago at St. Anna
Parochi, the Netherlands.
Gerrit was born at St. Jacobie, Friesland,
the Netherlands and his wife Corri was from
Utrecht. They took up farming in their
native land but wished for expansion in their
dairy business and came to Canada in 1949.
They worked for a farmer in the Kirkton
area for a year and the next two years Mr.
Beimers worked at the Cement Plant at St.
Marys.
In 1952, they moved . to East Wawanosh
Township where they purchased their 50
acre farm, They gradually increased their
acreage where Mr. Beimers farmed and
milked over 40 cows.
In 1968, they sold their farms and moved
into the village of Auburn, where they
rented the former home of Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Asquith and family. They still
reside here.
Mr. Beimers enjoys his hobby of making
miniature windmills, replicas of the ones us-
ed in his homeland and has four monkeys,
canaries, chickens and other animals which
he has in his small barn. Mrs. Beimers en-
joys knitting and crocheting.
They are both members of the Christian
Reformed Church in Blyth and have been
back home, Mr. Beimers four times, and
Mrs. Beimers twice to see their relatives.
She has two sisters living, Jean Oostwaud of
Toronto, and Betsy of Appeldoorn, the
Netherlands. Five brothers have passed
away. He has two brothers, Piet Beimers of
Strathroy and Lykale of St. Jacobie,
Paroshie, and a sister, Alsenga of Wyke,
Holland. A brother Henry Benners of Strat-
ford passed away in 1967.
Friends are holding Open House in the ,
Auburn' Community, Memorial Hall on
December 16 from 3 to 5 p.m.

on. January 27, at 8 a.m. Members are asked
to bring a guest. Bill Chambers will prepare
breakfast for the January meeting.
The January meeting will also feature a
look back through the early days of the BAC,
when Clayton Dixon brings in history books
and clippings.
CLINTON - The St. Paul's Brotherhood of
Anglican Churchmen (BAC) held a
breakfast meeting on November 25, with
guests present. from St. Joseph's Roman
Catholic Church. Guests included Rene
Brochu and Frank Pike. As well, John
Deeves, from Middleton Anglican Church
also attended.
Election of officers was held. The new
executive includes: Past President Ken
McNairn, President Doug Morgan,
Secretary Murray Taylor, Treasurer

The Choir sane six songs reia„t-tx to the
Christmas season with the solo parts, en

Piano solos were played by April,: Gross
and Rose -Marie Young and a deet on .the
piano was played by Jodi Webster and Anita
Gross. (
Everyone enjoyed the baton twirling -.per-
formed by Janice and Jodi Webster.
Shane Webster, Stuart Bakker artd Ksyin
Webster amused the .audience with their
story -telling act. The audience enjoyed a
comical skit entitled, A Restaurant Mme,
presented by Kerrie Baidier and Janice
Webster.
The familiar selection of Jingle BelLs, rias
played by Anita Gross on the saxophone
with Nicole Middelkamp and Karen Bakller ,
playing the bells.
During the evening, song sheets wyre'
handed out and young and old enjoyed sylig-
ing a few familiar carols.
Following the program, Mrs. Ramp}oo
and her staff served a delicious lunch eyn-
sisting of hot cider and Christmas cookies to
the residents, members of the choir And
their mothers.

Beavers help
Area residents have really risen to the
occasion and got into the Christmas spirit,
with their donations to the Family and
Children's Services' Christmas Bureau.

donation of about 30 handmade stuffed toys.

needy Huron County families, with
donations of food and Christmas presents.
