Due to the similarity of the topics in this
theoretical course both 4th and 3rd
Class levels will be taught. Students
will receive one hour of each of the
following every evening they attend:
Mathematics I and 11
Physics I and 11
Thermodynamics I and II
Block 641 must be successfully com-
pleted before the Block 631 may be at-
tempted.

Refrigeration And Air
Conditioning

This course will provide the basic
knowledge of air and gas compression,
heating, refrigeration and air condition-
ing.
Topics include: air compressors, con-
trols, auxiliary equipment, maintenance
of compressors, steam and hot water
heating, ventilation, air conditioning,
regulations and maintenance of equip-
ment.

Power Plant Applied Mechanics
Blocks 646 and 636 S
This course will provide the basic
knowledge for turbines and internal
combustion engines.
Topics include principles of steam and
gas turbines, gasoline and diesel en-
gines, lubrication, governors and inter-
nal combustion engine operation.

The lectures will focus on ways to save
money on your Income Taxes and
examine the fundamentals of tax plan-
ning such as:
- Making the most of your mortgage -in-
terest tax deductible, paydowns,, pen-

- Different types of investments ex-
plained - bonds, debentures, stocks,
etc.
- Income ,Tax considerations - refiling
your tax return
- The dividend tax credit and how it can
save you tax dollars, income splitting
and converting income from highly
taxed to lower taxed, capital gains
tax, interest and pension deductions

At the conclusion of this lecture series
you should have an awareness of the
Income Tax system and how to reduce,
defer or eliminate taxes. You will also
have an awareness of various invest-
ment vehicles and an opportunity to
discuss trends for the '80's.

Rapid Reading
This course is designed to help per-
sons with the information explosion.
From previous course experience, a
successful graduate will be able to read
three to seven times • faster, with a
10-1 5% improvement in camprehen-
'sion. The course is broken, into three
phases. Phase 1 - testing for present
reading speed and establishing a per-
sonal goal. Phase 2 - Instruction and
practice to develop improved eye skills.
Phase 3 - Development of .higher read-
ing speeds.
This course is offered in co-operation
with the Foster -Black Rapid Reading
Institute.

Window Warmer Workshop
This is a do-it-yourself workshop for
people who wish to make their own
insulated shades. Personal supervision
is given to each individual's needs, and
each participant takes home a finished
"Window Warmer" ready to install.
No special expertise is required to
• make an insulated shade. In addition to
the making of the shade, the instructor
will deal with care and maintenance.
Participants must register in advance in
order to receive. the instructions on
measuring their windows. These mea-
surements are essential to have at the
workshop.'
Participants will be required to pur-
chase supplies to the approximate
value of $35 for their shade. These
materials may be obtained at the
Workshop if desired. Directions are
included in the instruction manual.
