Portrait And Wedding Photography S Prerequisite: Photography - The Basics and Advanced Photography or have an equivalent in practical experience. Who should attend? Persons with skilled camera techniques who want to produce portraits of their family and friends. Topics include: the effects of lighting and shadow, how to pose the subject and how to create a setting which reflects the mental image of the subject. Mar. 25 $33 Location: Conestoga Centre, Fitness Gym FAMILY LIFE Prenatal Training For Parents This course is offered in conjunction with Kitchener -Waterloo Hospital as a means of reducing anxiety and increas- ing the self confidence of expectant parents. This course is presented in two parts. There will be a time lapse between the sections. Part 1: Developing a Healthy Preg- nancy: This part is designed for atten- dance by couples and, the students will discuss what constitutes a healthy regimen for pregnancy. Topics covered include fetal growth and development, physical and emotional changes of parents in pregnancy, preliminary exer- cises, comfort measures and nutrition. Note: Parents are encouraged to regis- ter early in the pregnancy in order to be assured of a place in the class. Part 2: Preparation For Childbirth: Part 2 is also offered in conjunction with Kitchener -Waterloo Hospital and is designed for attendance by couples. Part 2 begins in the seventh month of pregnancy and provides, through group participation, the opportunity to learn about pregnancy and birth. Conscious relaxation and the Lamaze method are taught. The method of instruction for this course is shared teaching by a man and a woman. Offered at: Doon Tues, Wed. or Thurs. 7-9 p.m. 7 wks. ongoing $47 per couple Fee includes $5 for supplies. Prenatal Training For Parents - Refresher N Prerequisite: Completion in prior preg- nancy of a prenatal program involving some Lamaze preparation. Applicants not able to meet this prerequisite are advised to enrol in Prenatal - Prepara- tion for Childbirth. This course is offered in conjunction with Kitchener -Waterloo Hospital and is designed for attendance by couples. Emphasis is placed on relaxation, a thorough review of breathing tech- niques and how to help siblings cope with the arrival of a newborn. Coping With Your Role As A Step Parent N This course 'focuses on the difficult role a step parent faces in his/her' new family. It is not a therapy group, but rather provides guidelines for step parents who are working their way through various family issues and deal- ing with their conflicting roles. Offered at: Guelph Tues. 7-10 p.m. 4 wks. Feb. 26 $19 Family Budget And Debt Management N This short course will deal with the basic principles necessary when setting up a family budget. Topics include: financial assessment, financial plan- ning, sample budgets, resources, credit and debt management, credit • ratings and bankruptcy. Offered at: Guelph Sat. 9-11:30 a.m. 4 wks. Jan. 26 $20 Family Law: Marriage And Divorce N The first part of this brief course is concerned with the rights and obliga- tions of marriage, between spouses and between parents and children. The second part deals with separation and divorce including property rights, sup- port and custody. The instructor also details the divorce, procedure, grounds for and bars to divorce.
