Communionbaptism held at

Communion was observed at the Blyth
United Church last Sunday. Baptism was
administered , to Kristin Lacey Janine
Hubbard daughter of Jun and Shelley
Hubbard and Laura Kay Meier daughter of
Fred and Linda Meier.
The Annual White'', Gift Service will be
obilerved, this Sunday, December 2 at 11
a.rpl. The children of the Sunday School will
take part in.the service.
Lost Heir
Six tables of Lost Heir were played last
Wednesday at the Blyth Memorial Hall. The
winners were: high lady, Edyth Glousher;
low lady, Ella Richmond; high man, Elvin
Snell; low man, Gordon Murray.
Euchre
Thirteen tables of euchre were played on
Monday evening at the Blyth Memorial Hall
with the winners as follows. High lady, Marj
East; high man, Bert Daer; low lady,.
Nadine Scott of Auburn; low man, Bernice
McClinchey ( Playing as a man) ; ladies lone

ACW meet
The two main features of the Blyth
November UCW meeting were the showing
of a film on South Korea and the information
on sheets handed out on the success of the
four day Bonanza. It stated what each
department had raised in 1983 and also in
1984, and should be an incentive for all
conveners to keep on progressing.
Evalena Webster, convener of
Community Friendship, explained that
because of easy and rapid modes of
communication, our entire planet is
becoming our community and concern.
The worship, conducted by Susan Howson,
co-ordinated with the film. The Scripture
seleetion demonstrated the greatness of
Love as did two. stories. read by Susan and
Evalena. •
The 100th anniversary of the Protestant
Church in South Korea this year makes us
fully aware of the fact that, despite extreme
adversity in this century, South Korean
Christians„ comprising 25 percent of the.
population, play a strong roll in tlieir
intricate community network in every facet
of Korean society.
June Peck and Lenora Davidson enjoyed
talking to two South Korean ladies at a
potluck supper at Fullarton on October 5. On
exchange, they were visiting Huron -Perth
Presbyterial that day.
hearty vote of thanks was extended to
President Susan for her dedication,
organization, and generosity regarding the
successful event - Bonanza, as well as to all
others who enjoyed being a part of it.
Joanne Bauman extended an invitation to
U.C.W. members to come to the Manse for
the December 13 meeting.
December meetings are always inspiring
when conveners of every department give
encouraging reports. .
Elsie Walsh and Shirley Shobrook of the
Evening Unit served a delicious buffet
supper to the 19 ladies attending.
Master Key Award given to Charlie Shaw
The Blyth Lions Club held their regular
meeting on Nov. 22 at the Blyth Memorial
Hall. Twenty-two Lions and two guests were
served a delicious pork supper by the Blyth
Figure Skating club.
Lion Gordon Rimmer from Seaforth, zone
chairman for zone 3 south, made his official
visit to the club. He presented the Master
., Key Award to Lion Charlie Shaw. This
award is for sponsoring 12 Lions: into the
Blyth Lions Club. Lions Stewart Ament and
Larry Walsh were presented with their 10
year Perfect Attendance Awards.
A $100, donation was made by the Club to
the Vanastra Recreation Centre to help
purchase swimming pool supplies.
The Blyth Lions Club Christmas Dance
will be held Saturday, December 8 and

The club is sponsoring Santa Claus Day in
Blyth on Saturday, December 15.
The next Lions meeting will be Thursday,
December 13 and this will be the Annual
Lions Family Christmas Party.

New directors elected to Association
The Huron Pioneer Threshers and Hobby
Association Inc. held their annual meeting
on November 24, in the Blyth Memorial
Hall, with a good attendance.
President Raymond Hallahan welcomed
everyone present.and opened the meeting.
The secretary read the minutes of last
year's annual meeting. The financial report
was discussed among the members.
Three new directors were elected for a
three year term, Tom Leiper, Bruce
Thomson and John Ellacott,
A minute of silence was observed for all
deceased members and their families who
had Rassed away in the previous year.
The minutes of the Western Ontario Steam
Show were read by the secretary.
Plans are underway 'for the. Huh to
celebrate their 25th anniversary in 1986.

Hallahan.
CWL Christmas plans
made for Deceinheri3
Members of the St. Michael's Catholic
Women's League (CWL) gathered at the
home of Agnes Lammerant for the
November meeting: Seven members
attended.
It was agreed to send a $50 donation to the
Town and Country Homemakers.
Plans were made for December 13, when
CWI, members will present fruit baskets to
residents at the Rammeloo Nursing Home.
All members are asked to participate by
coming to Rammeloo's by 1:30 p.m.
The annual CWI. Christmas party will be
held on Tuesday, December 11. Mass will be
held at 11 a.m., followed by Minch at the
Triple -K Restaurant. A gift exchange will be
held. •
CWL will purchase flowers to the church
for Christmas. Also, flowers will be bought
for shut-ins.
The next regular meeting will be held
Monday, Janualry T4at • 1:30 p.m. at the
home of Anna DeJong.

.The next members,' meeting is planned for
April 13, 1985.
Pee Wees take shut -out
The Blyth Pee Wee hockey team travelled
to Clinton to open their first game with 8-0
shut -out.
Ricky Howson and Michael Preszcator
'lead the scoring with two apiece. Jeff
Bromley, Darryl Elliott, Arthur Bos and
Jeff Nesbitt picked up. one apiece. The goal
tending was shared by Michael Croynn and
Richard Shaddick. The boys played a good
team effort -
heir second game they travelled to
Lucan. The scoring was led by Shane Taylor
with two goals and Ricky Howson assisted
them. Despite the excellent goaltending by
Michael Crovnn, Lucan came out 7-2.
