of his own and has now one of the

Mr. John Kerslake, of the London
Road South, sold an excellent two-year-
old colt, sired by Orchard Willow
(owned by Mr. A. Dow) to Mr. George
Patterson, of Tavistock, for the hand-
some sum of $175. There is always the
demand for good stock.
The Ontario Fisheries department
is drawning attention to the fact that
the close season for speckled trout
starts on September 15, instead of
September 1. A nurnber of convictions
have been registered for selling musk-
alonge, which is 'contrary to law.
The German Emperor attributes his
good health and vigor to the advice of
his favorite doctor, and he has learned
by heart the latter's rule of life, which
is as follows: "Eat fruit for breakfast.
Eat fruit for lunch. Avoid pastry and
hot cakes. Only take potatoes once a
day. Don't drink tea or coffee, Walk
four miles a a day, wet or fine. Take
a bath every day, wash the face every
night in warm water. Sleep eight
hours every night”
