There will be a golf tournament
September 16, at Sunset Golf Course in
Goderich with tee -off time to be announced.
Golf and meal is $20 per person. For further

In closing the Clinton Legion Branch 140
has received a plaque from the Clinton
Minor Ball Association president Robert
"Doc" Miller expressing their thanks .for
sponsoring minor baseball in the Town of
Clinton. The association appreciates the in-
terest shown towards the youth of the com-
munity. The Legion thanks "Doc" and the
plaque will be put on display.

The Goderich Township 1-5-0 committee
reminds everyone that . names for the
Iron's "list 'of ''thee' Godetich' TOWiishito
History Book must be compiled and taken to
the.publisher by September 1, 1984.
To be eligible for the patrons' list, you
must live or own land in the township in
1984. Contact Mrs. . Charles Orr, RR 2
Goderich, N7A 3X8.. To order your History
Book by September 1.
The hard cover book, Township of
Goderich History, Vol. I, will be available
by December 1984. Cost to patrons and
others ordering before December 1 will be
only $20 per copy; after December 1, $25 per
copy. The main concern at the present time
is to have all patrons names gatheredbefore
September 1 to allow the •history book com-
mittee to . meet their obligation to the
publisher. Don't be disappointed: Order
your book now.
A second book dealing with township
families will be published in 1985 -. the ses-
quicentennial year.. Anyone who wants to
submit a brief history of their family should
contact Mrs. Don Lobb, RR 2 Clinton, NOM
1L0 - telephone 482-7167. All material must
be received by Mrs. Lobb by the Fall Of 1984.
In other committee activities, bumper
stickers with a non -permanent backing have
been, distributed to residents in hopes they
will put the stickers on their vehicles as a
means of publicizing the sesquicentennial
celebrations upcoming in 1985.
Meetings lof the Goderich Township 1-5-0
`committee are open to the public and are
held on the second Wednesday of each
month at .8:30. p.m. in the , Goderich
Township Community Centre, Holmesville.

bingo $1,000 jackpot
CLINTON - Mary Jeffrey of Goderich
pocketed $1,000 at the Clinton Monster Bingo
on August 27.
She also split $149.50 share-the=wealth
game -winnings with Mrs. Hartman of
Goderich and Hilda Austin of Seaforth.
Another Goderich lady, Helen Watson won
the $154.25 share -the -wealth prize. Ruben
Schinbein of Hanover and Frances Gibson of
Dashwood split share -the -wealth winnings
of $148.25.
Dianne Smith of London won $129.50 in the
early bird game and Marjorie Meidinger of
Zurich and Kay Storzuk of'Wingham split
$119.50. ,
In regular $50 games, individual winners
were Mary Trevena of Clinton, Bev Bell of
Hensall, Chris Brodie of Kippen, Dianne
Miller of Goderich, Cathy Johnston of Clin-
ton and Muriel Byers of Clinton. -
Anita Faber of Kippen and Maude Weston
of Bayfield split game winnings, as did
Grace Littlechild of Goderich and Lloyd
Hoffman of Bayfield. Mrs. Mills of
Strathroy and Judy Dykstra of Clinton also
won a round.
Donna Deer of Mitchell and Joanne
'elford of Brucefield each went home $25
richer and so did Rosalind Higgs of Kippen
and Eleanor Swan of Seaforth.
Jeanette Huffman of Bayfield, Kathy
Talbot of London and Dorms Deer of Mit-
chell split game winnings. Pat Shaw of
Blyth,,Rita McMichael of Clinton and Steve
Combagnon of London also won a round.
Other winners were Joan McKinnon of
Zurich and Viola George of Clinton,Mrs.
Beech of Clinton and G. Kull of Bayfied.
