A discussion was heldon, bringing back
the. Varna trust fund from Lotillen, to pay
the repairs on the Rectory. John Deeves
made the motion to bring it back and
everyone was in favour. Margaret
Middleten adjourned the meeting.

Sunday School will. resume at St. James'
Anglican Church on September 9. Doreen
welsh will be the teacher. •
On October 7, Joanne Wain will teach the
Sunday School classes. She will also order
material for the next term.
We. 'welcome to our area Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Flynn to the Szus farm.
Mary Atwood of Detroit visited with her
sister Delores Dutot on the weekend.
Many gathered in Bayfield on Saturday to
watch the Bayfield Fair parade. Among
those in the parade from. the Middleton area
were James, Lisa and 13ill Storey on their
horses also Alvin Dutot and his
granddaughter Jennifer Dutot with the
ponies and. wagon, -and former residents,
now of Dungannon, Marion and -Jack Smith

Visitors with Ray and Estelle Wise on the
weekend were Bob and Pat Hodgins and
their two little daughters, .
Don and Audrey Middleton spent the
Weekend' in Muskoka visiting with the
Hoflingers.
Congratulations go out to Helen and Dick
Steenstra on the arrival of another baby
girl.. •

Bluewater Golf Course at Bayfield held its club championship on August 26 and establish-
ed its series A and B winners. Kay Sharp of Clinton (left} won the women's club tham-
pionship with a 36 hole 165. Tim West of Bayfield (right) was the men's winner with 147.

Midgets lose
tournament

HOLMESVILLE - Despite a good fight,
the Holmesville Midget ball team lost a
tournament championship game to
1,ondesboro.
Londesboro beat. the Holmesville boys by
one run aftertwo innings of overtime play.
• Holmesville Coach Ray Ducharme said,
"The effort and sportsmanship of my team
was second to none." .
He thanked the boys for their
participation all summer and also thanked.
the fans who carne to the games and cheered
the team on. Special thanks went out to
Fraser Abbott and Cathy VanNinhuys for
helping,during the tournament.

The Goderich Township Enterprising
Seniors are reminded that their meeting will
be held on September 6, starting at 8 p.m. at
the Community Centre in Holmesville.
Sympathy is expressed to Rev. and Mrs.
James Bechtel and family on the death of
Mrs. Bechter.s father.

Twenty-six junior golfers took part in the
Junior tournament held last Wednesday at
the Bluewater Golf Course. Despite the rain,
golfers managed to finish all 18 holes.
The golfers were divided into five divi-
sioos. Winning the boy's 14 ,to 16 -year-old
category was Tom Shaddick with an 81.
Jamie Pearce was only one stroke off, tak-
ing second place with an 82.
The same age category for the girls was
won by Jan Ducharme with 162. Tracy
Boyes was the runner-up with 165. Jamie
Dundass won the boy's 13 -year-old category
with 99. Todd Horvath was the runner-up
with 108.
Dion Hoyt's score of 111 was good enough
for a first place finish in the nine to 12 -year-
old division. Allan Hoyt placed second with
122. The girl's nine to 13 -year-old division
was won by Charla Menhennet with 135.
Denise Horvath was second with 156.
