Londesboro beat. the Holmesville boys by one run aftertwo innings of overtime play. • Holmesville Coach Ray Ducharme said, "The effort and sportsmanship of my team was second to none." . He thanked the boys for their participation all summer and also thanked. the fans who carne to the games and cheered the team on. Special thanks went out to Fraser Abbott and Cathy VanNinhuys for helping,during the tournament. News and notes The Goderich Township Enterprising Seniors are reminded that their meeting will be held on September 6, starting at 8 p.m. at the Community Centre in Holmesville. Sympathy is expressed to Rev. and Mrs. James Bechtel and family on the death of Mrs. Bechter.s father. Even though the weatherman was not in a co-operative mood, the golfers managed to get in 18 holes. (Anne Narejko photo) Junior golfers play in the rain Twenty-six junior golfers took part in the Junior tournament held last Wednesday at the Bluewater Golf Course. Despite the rain, golfers managed to finish all 18 holes. The golfers were divided into five divi- sioos. Winning the boy's 14 ,to 16 -year-old category was Tom Shaddick with an 81. Jamie Pearce was only one stroke off, tak- ing second place with an 82. The same age category for the girls was won by Jan Ducharme with 162. Tracy Boyes was the runner-up with 165. Jamie Dundass won the boy's 13 -year-old category with 99. Todd Horvath was the runner-up with 108. Dion Hoyt's score of 111 was good enough for a first place finish in the nine to 12 -year- old division. Allan Hoyt placed second with 122.
