Manvi are resident attended the- 25th
wedding anniversary reception for John and
Ba rbara.Jewitt on August 10 atSeaforth.
Congratulations go out to , Lorne and
Renee Snell on their 40th anniversary. A
`reception was held in the Londesboro Hall
on August 11. -
Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson have a new
grandson, Stephen Robert, born to Glenyce
and Fred Hutter of St. Agatha on August 9.
He's a brother for Geoffrey. Mrs. Anderson
is now spending a few days with the family. ,
Harold Longman was admitted to Clinton
Public Hospital on Sunday. • a -
Mr. and Mrs. Stan Crawford and Carol of
Ottawa visited for three days over the past
week with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lear and
David.
Gail Lear, Lisa Duizer and Ron Greidanus
attended a piano workshop at Western
University, London, on July 27-29.
August 14 visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Bob
Burns were daughters Mr- and Mrs. Ed
.. ,.Mr. and Mrs... -Colin Paterson and Katie of
Lonldon.Pat, Ed and David remained for a
longer visit.
Gary Sottiaux spent the weekend with his
parents, mr. and Mrs. Bill Sottiaux and Jen-
nifer, leaving on Sunday for Calgary.
• Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Shaddick, Danny,
,Stephen and Krystal of Brantford spent the
weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Allen Shaddick.
' The Lyon family picnic was held in Exeter
on Sunday. Attending from Londesboro
were Murray‘ Shirley, Bert, Joanne and
Laura Lyon, Edythe Beacom, Emerson
Hesk, Mervin and Ida Durnin.
Visiting a few days this past week with
Edythe Beacom and Laura Lyon were
cousins Mr. and Mrs. Russell McGee of
Mason, Manitoba.
Pat Stackhouse of Woodstock visited on
Sunday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Vic
Stackhouse and Mark.
Dora Shobbrook spent Sunday with her
daughter, Thelma Ellerby of Clinton. They
attended the morning service at Ontario
Street United Church at the band concert in
Goderich in the evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Reg Lawson, Florence Cart-
wright and John attended Ontario Street
United Church in Clinton on Sunday morn-
ing.

Two vehicles collide
LONDESBORO - A truck -car collision just
south of here resulted in $1,600 in damage
but no injuries.
The Goderich OPP reported that on
August 7 at 11:415 a.m. a Chev truck driven
by John Hoggart, 42, of Londesboro was
northbound on Highway 4, approaching the
construction area on the Maitland River
bridge, when the collision occured with a
vehicle driven by Linda Sparks, 34, of RR 2
Seaforth.
Damage to Sparks' Buick was estimated
at $1,500 while Hoggart's vehicle received
$100 in damages.
Music students pass exams
LONDESBORO - Gail Lear, A. Mus., of
Londesboro is pleased to report the results
of piano and theory examinations taken this
year with Western or Royal Conservatory of
Music.
Lisa Duizer received h9nors for Grade 9
Piano and first class honors in Grade 4
History of Music. Ron Greidanus received
first class honors in Grade 8 Piano; honors
in Grade 9 History; and first class honors in
Grade 2 Theory. Janine Buffinga received
honors in both Grade 2 Theory and Grad 4, ,\The sixth meeting was held at the Blyth

Ladies study Erma's advice
SUMMERHILL - Marie Middleton was
hostess for the August meeting of the Sum-
merhill Ladies' Club. There were 18
members and three visitors present.
President, Lorna Ellis opened the meeting
with a poem. The raffle was won by Hazel
Watkins.
Gladys Van Egmond and daughter Susan
entertained by playing several selections on
the accordion and saxaphone. Erma
Bombeck's advice on "Saving Money" was
read by Evelyn Merrill:

September 12, 8:30 p.m. at the home of
Joanne Salverda. Lunch and program will
be in charge of Joanne Salverda, Jane Van
Spengen and Jean Vodden. The roll call to

The Hon. Alan W. Pope, Minister of
Natural Resources will be presenting CKNX
radio with an outstanding public service
award on Thurday, August '16, 1984. The
