together a good team behind the pitching of
Ram 'Stewart to defeat Clinton 8-3.
It 'was good experience for the Clinton
Midgets to play against teams of higher
calibre than they faced in regular season
play.
Success came sweet, finally. Clinton
midgets soundly defeated the • Dashwood
squad 11-4.
The Clinton Midgets, not being able to
field a team, called on the services of three
peewee -aged players, Richard Lyndon,
Derek Jefferson and Devon Celquhoun.
Dean Cartwright started the game with, a
strong first inning. Troy Falconer entered in
the second to display his fine pitching quali-
ty..
Dean Cartwright had a triple arid three
singles from five at bats. Terry. Cox had one
single and two doubles from five at bats.
Kevin Lee for four times at bat had three
singles. •
• Terry Cox dispfayed good heads -up
baseball as he made two key plays at first.
Devon Colquhoun, •while playing second
base, made four outs in two innings.
• All three peewees made good contact with
the ball when at bat. One unfortunate play
happened when Richard Lyndon got spiked
• in the leg as he challenged a Dashwood run-
ner on a throw from the Clinton catcher.
Richard had to be taken out of the game
because of the injury. •
