Thomas Oliver Telford and Cindy May
Cluff, 'both of Bayfield were married at
Bayfield's Trinity Anglican Church on June
22. Rev. Gordon Reynolds officiated. The
groom is the son of Mrs. Gladys Telford and
the bride is the daughter of Mrs. Catherine
Cluff, both of Bayfield. Colleen Cluff was the //-
bride's maid of honor and the best man was
Steven Telford of Bayfield. Douglas Telford
of Bayfield was the usher. Following the
ceremony, a wedding reception was held at
the White Carnation in Holmesville. The
couple honeymooned to Niagara Falls and
will take up residence in Bayfield. (Frank

Gary Uniac and Lorena Boyes were married
on June 16 in the Goderich Knox
Presbyterian Church. The groom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Uniac of RR .2
Bayfield and the bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Budd Boyes of Clinton,aRev. G.L.
Royal officiated at the ceremony. Maid of
honor was Tracy Boyes, sister of the bride
and best man was Jay Uniac, brother of the
groom. Ushers were James Armstrong and
Richard Penhale, friends of the groom.
Following a reception at the Goderich
Township Community Centre, the
newlyweds honeymooned in Ontario. They
are now residing in Sarnia..
Collins'
picnic held
despite rain
The 20th Crollin's Picnic was held on June
17, at the home of Earl and Myrtle Collins
due to very rainy weather; it was. to have
been held at the Clinton Conservation Park.
Eighteen sat down to a buffet style 'lun-
cheon.
It was decided to have the same officers
for 1985. Executive members include:
President, Elizabeth Foster; Secretary-
treasurer,
ecretarytreasurer, Ray Foster; Directors, Don and
Barb Ward, Bill and Cheryl Collins; Sports,
Susan Van Egmond. and David Saldivar.
The picnic date for.1985 is Sunday June 16.
Barry William Eckel and Charlene Pamela
Littleton, both of London, were married at
Goshen United Church on July 21 by Rev. W.
Brown. The groom is the son of John and
Geraldine Eckel of RR 1 Varna and the
bride is the daughter of Wayne and Carol
Littleton of• London. Gail Jamieson of
Waterford was the maid of honor and
Colette Isaac oULondesboro .was the bridal
attendant. Flowergirls were Tara and Kim
Yamamoto of Strathroy. Jeff Cook of.
Londesboro was the best man and Randy
Eckel of Waterford was the groomsman.
After a reception at the Hensall Community
Centre, the newlyweds honeymooned in

Legion to honor members

CLINTON - Honors and awards chairman
Comrade Art Riseley reports on honors• and
award banquet at the Clinton Legion on
September 15.
The district commander, Comrade Lorne
Anderson will be the guest speaker and
Comrade Paul Cormier has promised an ex-
cellent meal. Tickets can now be purchased
at the bar or from most of the executive
committee members' including, Comrades
George Lauzon, Steve Maguire,. Gord Tait,
Al Welch, Ed Porter, Bill Chambers, Eric
Switzer and Arthur Riseley.
All members are urged to support this
worthy event to honor several members of
Branch 140 who have given outstanding ser-
vices to the Legion.
Not much to report on sports, but sports
chairman Cditnrade Bill Harris is still hard
at it. A reminder the District Golf Tourna-
ment at Branch 130 Hanover August 18. For

HURONVIEW - On July 17 there were
several tables of euchre and 500 in progress,
as, well as games and crafts, for those who
don't play cards. Special Care residents met
for their weekly social hour. Grace Peck
and Frank Bissett provided piano music for
their pleasure, and a special treat of ice
cream cones was served to the residents.
In the evening, Annie McNichol, Margaret
McLaughlan, Golda Tyler, Olive Colwell,
Mabel Scott, Frank Bissett, Mary
Jamieson, Myrtle Fairservice, Ida Close,
Pearl Squires accompanied by Jane Ladd
and Pat Fields went to Goderich to see the
Showcase Bicentennial. The acting, singing
and dancing were magnificent, the lighting,
costumes and props fascinating and all
agreed that it was a production of ex-
cellence.
During the noon -hour, there was an in-
teresting display of Tupperware, and
everyone was invited to see the many prac-
tical articles. These demonstrations are
-always popular with staff members. Also to-

hamburgs and hot dogs, on the barbecues
outdoors.
The Walton Women's Institute arranged
the July birthday party, which was held
Wednesday afternoon, in the auditorium.
The hall was filled to capacity for this occa-
sion. Margaret Shortreed acted as
chairlady, and introduced the numbers on
the program. She also led in a singsong.
Phyllis Mitchell on violin and Wat Webster
with mouth organ, played a medley of old
time tunes, accompanied at the piano by
Margery Heuther. This was followed by a
duet, Sharon Godkin and Shannon Craig
singing and Marion Godkin presided at the
piano. Blaine Marks held the interest of
everyone, as he played several numbers on
the violin. He was accompanied at the piano
by Marjorie Humphries.
Two more selections were played on the
violin by Phyllis Mitchell accompanied by
Mildred Travis at the piano. Another
singsong was held followed by the singing of
Lion Safari
the Happy Birthday Song. At the close of the
concert, cool drinks and fancy cupcakes
were served.
Thursday noon, residents from 1st Floor
North had a sumptuous meal of hot dogs,
hamburgs and ice cream.
A program for the folk of Special Care was
held, as well as the mid -week Bible Study,
under the direction of Mrs. M. Prouty, who
also led in the singing of the hymns. Mrs.
Elsie Henderson presided at the organ. The
scripture was read by Olive McMillen;
It was a beautiful day Friday, when early
in the morning, residents and attendants
boarded the bus and van, and took off for the
African Safari. Here the group saw just
about every species of animal imaginable.
Whole hordes of monkeys approached and
seemed to be more aggressive and daring.
They climbed all over the cars, and when
the baby ones couldn't get a footing on which
to climb, the mothers got down and took
them up on the cars with them. Isn't the in-
stinct of nature marvelous?

Former RAF serviceman passes away
Walter George Bellchamber
A former British Royal Air Force
serviceman in World War II Walter E.G.
(George) Bellchamber died on July 19 at the
age of 67 in the Clinton Public Hospital.
Born in Bournemouth, England in 1917,
the Bayfield resident was also a Civilian
Electronics Instructor at the Canadian
Forces Base in Clinton from 1955 to 1970. He
attended Poole Grammar School in England
and in 1946 married Audrey. They settled in
England until 1950 • and then moved to
Windsor, Ontario. In 1955 the Bellchambers
moved to Nassau, Bahamas. They lived
there - and then travelled back to
Canada to live in Toronto. They moved
again in 1982 and settled in Bayfield.
' Mr. Bellchamber served as member of the
Trinity Anglican Church Board. of
Management. He was also the Bayfield
representative of the Central Huron
Secondary School Board, the chairman of
the Bayfield Cubs and Scouts Group
Committee and the Secretary Treasurer of
the Huron District Boy Scouts. Mr:
Bellcharnber was also an active member•of
the Royal Canadian Legion.
' He is survived by three sons and daughter -
in -laws Nigel and Dianne of London, Neil
and Judy of Weston; Ontario and Brian and
Bill.

Forty-seven descendants of the Lawson -
Clark family gathered at the Benmiller
' Falls Reserve Park for their reunion on July
8.

by six grandchildren and two brothers; Les
Bellchamber of Deal, England, and Chris
Bellchamber of Edmonton, Alberta.
A funeral was held on July 21 at Trinity
Anglican Church, Bayfield. The Beattie
Funeral Home in Clinton was in charge of
funeral arrangements. Reverend Douglas
Pitts officiated. the service and the
interment was in the Bayfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers were; Nigel Bellchamber of
London, Neil Bellchamber of Weston, Brian
Grime of Guelph, Barry Grime of Guelph,
Derek Grime of Toronto and Terry
Fitzsimons of Bayfield.
Margaret Mary MacLennan
•
Margaret Mary MacLennan, a former lite
member of the IODE, passed away in her
85th year at Huronview on July 17. She was
the wife of the late Phillip MacLennan and is
survived by four children. They are: Audrey
Hudson of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Kay
Pyke of Clinton; Jean Murray Of Toronto
and Mrs. Ken MacLennan of Scarborough.
Mrs. MacLennan is also survived by four
grandchildren, four great-grandchildren
and one sister, Mrs. Tina Waden of Glace

Eastern Star. She also sang in a number of
Toronto choirs.
Funeral services were held on July 20 at
the Giffen and Mac Funeral Chapel' in
Toronto. Interment was at Resthaven
Memorial Garden in Toronto
A correction
Fred Tyndall, grandson of the late
Florence Millian was a flower bearer at her
. funeral.
His name was inadvertantly omitted in
the obituary report in the July 16 edition of
theNews-Record.

Sunday morning worship was in charge of
Reverend, Cheryl -Anne Sampa, and she con-
tinued with her message, on the series of the
Ten Commandments. During the service,
Mabel Scott and Elsie Henderson sang a
duet.
For part of the summer months, Huron -
view is pleased to have with us, four young
girls from the Summer Workshops and
Ministries at Vanastra. The girls are work-
ing here on a volunteer basis. They are a
willing and capable group, and assist
wherever needed, and one of their pleasant
duties is to transport residents confined to
wheelchairs, to the various areas of the
home. • .
Huronview extends a warm welcome to
Mr. Milton (Mickey) Webb of Grand Bend,
who has come to reside at Huronview.
To the families of the late Mrs. Margaret`
McLennan, and the late Mr. Theron Bettles,
sincere sympathy is expressed.
