Carman Hie won his second; of the day in
the fourth division with Idylwood Surge in
2.04 for the Carman Hie Stable Inc. and
Blake Anthony of Burlington.
For the second straight week, H F Alice,
paced in 2.06.4 with Terry Fritz on the bike
to give her two wins and one second, from
only three lifetime starts.
George W. (Butch) Elliott trains the two,
year-old filly by Tarport Count -Karina
Hanover by Armbro Nesbit for Bill Fleming
of Clinton.
John Muir of Seaforth gave Red Oak Ex-
press, owned by Gerald Schenk of Crediton,
a new 2.05.2 pacing record in the second.
Ross Battin finished second with Armbro
Bryan for Rene Dupuis of Seaforth.
John Muir returned to the winner's circle
again in the third with Valleycreek Tramp,
for owner John Watson of Blyth, following
his 2.05.4 victory.
This was the third win from four starts
this year for the five-year-old Super Wave
pacer, trained at Clinton by Walter Oster.
Grant Volland was second with Tax Tip in
a 2.07.4 mile for owner Joseph Kartonchik of
Hamilton.
Fred Sadler won the eighth in 2.05 with .
Stan The Hood, a three-year-old colt by
Mathies Almahurst, that has won six out of
10 starts for Mike Woodburn and Ray
Galloway of St. Thomas.
Fred Sadler had his second win of the day
in the tenth with Daylon Princess in 2.07.2,
while Ross Battin took third with Chipwood
Muffin for Gary Birmingham and Ronald
Brintnell of Exeter.
The Clinton Merchants Pace will be
featured at Clinton Raceway on Sunday, Ju-
ly 22 with post -time at 1:30 p.m. Qualifying
races will be held at approximately 12 p.m.
Horses owned by Stewart McCall of
Seaforth are racing well.
Country Beat, a two-year-old colt by Bret
Hanover -Spring Prom by Good Time, was a
winner in 2.03.2 at Greenwood Raceway in
Toronto on July 9, while Armbro Dick, a
two-year-old colt by Armbro Omaha-
Rustico by Namesmond, was first in 2.05.3
at Flamboro Downs on July 11.
Fergus Hanover was also second in a
1.57.4 mile in Toronto on Saturday night.
G.G. Columbo, owned by Paul Dougherty,
Leroy Meriam and Bob Daer of Goderich
was third in a 2.02.1 mile the same night.
Ross Battin was second with Hiawatha
Ring for Rene Dupuis and Ron Williamson
of Seaforth at Elmira Raceway on July 9.
KC ,Glider, owned - by Kevin Carter of
Blyth and trained by Paul Taylor of Clinton,
won in 2:02:3. at Hane er Raceway on July
