urortview residents enjoy barbecue season
HURONVIEW - July lO, Anglican Com-
munion was to have been .held in the chapel,
and since Reverend Simmons was absent,
Frank Bissett played some organ selections,
for the residents who attended.
Several ladies from Ground Floor North
and Ground Center, went for a drive In the
van on Wednesday. It was a• -beautiful day,
and the outing was thoroughly enjoyed.
Barbecues for the residents have begun,
and ladies from Ground North had theirs on
Thursday noon. There is nothing like the
outdoors, to give one a great appetite for
hamburgs and hot dogs. Each floor will
have a turn, weather permitting.
Mid -week Bible study was held in- the
chapel, with Mrs. Prouty in charge and led
in the singing of the hymns. There was a
time of prayer followed by scripture lesson
read by Olive McMillen. A solo was sung by
Mrs. Prouty followed by a solo sung by
Margaret McQueen. Elsie Henderson
presided at the organ.
Roman Catholic Mass with Reverend
Pluta was held in the chapel Friday morn-
ing and in the afternoon, residents met in
the auditorium for their weekly bingo.
Sunday morning worship was held with
Reverend Cheryl -Anne Sampa in charge of
the service. The lovely garden roses were
the gift of Linda Jones.
Monday afternoon residents got a plea-
sant surprise, when children from the Clin-
ton Playground Program and their leaders,
came out to Huronview'and put ova show in
the auditorium. It is quite an experience for
these very young people, to get up and per-
form in front of an audience. There were lots
of lines to memorize, and they did it all
splendidly. In costume and limited props,
two playlets were presented and entitled
'Three Billy•Goats• Gruff' and 'Gertrude and
Her Broom'. The songs that were sung in-
cluded 'Ship Titanic, Swimming, Bingo,
Alice Camel, In A Cabin and If " ou're Hap-
