Scouts, Cubs and Beavers camp out
CLINTON — The Beavers and Cubs are
finished for the year. Scouts will be going
until the end of June. They are doing
canoeing lessons.
The Beavers ended their season, with
parties and a trip to Benmiller on May 26.
They did activities in the morning and for
lunch the Cubs invited Beavers. The day
ended with a campfire.
The Cubs were camping the last weekend
in May'and they also had their banquet. Carl
Skov won a Cub mug and Bill Crawford) won
a picture donated by Ball and Mutch. The
Cubs would like to thank Ball and Mutchffor
their donation. They would like to thank

The Stratford and District Parents of
Twins and Triplets Club was represented by
Esther Cantelon of R.R. 4 Seaforth and Wan-
da Brown of R.R. 6 Woodstock at the
Parents of Multiple Births Association
seventh annual national convention from
May 10 to 13 in Ottawa.
Approximately 300 parents of twins and
triplets from across Canada met at the
University of Ottawa. Some of the topics in-
cluded: Understanding the Issues of Per-
sonal Identity of Multiple Birth Children,
Language Development, Impact of a Multi-
- ple Birth onithe_Family, Discipline, Family
Harmony, Together with Triplets, and En-
couragement.
The keynote speaker was Kay Cassill (an
identical twin) from Rhode Island, U.S.A.,
author of "Twins: Nature's Amazing
Mystery".
The 1984 convention is being held in Ed-
monton. London submitted a bid and was
chosen for the 1986 convention site. This will

Arts grants
awarded
BLYTH - A $1,500 grant has been awarded
to the Blyth Summer Festival from the
Ontario Arts Council (OAC).
Blyth playwright, Ted Johns, also
received a grant of up to $2,500 from the
OAC.
The Blyth Festival was one of 204 arts
organizations and Johns was one of 519
individual artists in Ontario to receive
funding from the OAC.
Area touring arts organizations also
benefited from the recent grants. The
Goderich Recreation Department's
program and the South Huron Recreation
Centre in Exeter each received $237.
