Robert Maaskant has recently graduated
with a Master of Applied Science degree in
Civil Engineering from the University of
Waterloo. Rob is the son of Mrs. Anne
Maaskant of R.R. 2 Clinton and the son-in-
law of Ken and Shirley Keller of Goderich.
Rob and his wife Lori will be living in
Burlington this fall where Rob has accepted
a teaching position.
John Klaver of RR 3, Kippen. recently won
two awards from Centralia College of
Agricultural. Technology. Huron County
Queen of the Furrow presented John with
the award for excellence in academic and
extracurricular activities. He also won an
award for proficiency in farm safety.

Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Blackwell flew to
Vancouver and visited their daughter and
son-in-law, Shahram Marashi and baby
daughter Sarah Atessa. While there they
also visited with their .daughter Mary
Moody and her daughter Nataska at Grand
Prairie, Alberta.
Mrs. Charles Goodman of Detroit visited
last week with her cousin Mrs. Jack Corbett.
Three Links Seniors will meet on June 12
at 8 p.m. Evelyn Flynn and Pearl Taylor are
on the entertainment committee and Alex
and Evelyn McBeath are on the social. It be-
ing Seniors' Month an invitation to a
barbecue at Huronview was received. Is'`'is•
being held on June 21. Also the seniors are
planning a bus trip to the Geritol Follies in
Toronto at Massey Hall on July 4. The bus
will leave Hensall after lunch. There are
plenty of seats available. Anyone wishing to
see this show, please contact Bertha
MacGregor at 262-2025 to make certain of a
seat.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Mosier of North
Carolina, and Mr. and Mrs. Les Adams of
Exeter were visitors last week with Mrs.
Jack Corbett.
Asa Deeves is a patient. in South Huron
Hospital, Exeter.
Mr. and Mrs. Eric Luther returned home
after a pleasant motor trip to Winnipeg and
Saskatoon.
Mr. and. Mrs. Elgin Johnston of London
spent the weekend with the latter's mother

Exeter Hospital.

Cecil and Joyce Pepper and fancily at-
tendeda Convocation Ceremony at
Guelph University last' Thursday for the
graduation of their daughter Brenda (Pep-
per) Brennan who graduated with her
Master of Arts Degree in Sociology and An-
thropology.

with the University of Guelph. To help
celebrate the occasion everyone enjoyed a
lovely dinner in the Amber Capola Steak
House in Guelph.
Service in Carmel Presbyterian Church
was conducted on Sunday by Rev. Kenneth
Knight with Mrs. Joan Keys at the organ.
Flowers in the sanctuary were placed in
memory of the late Gordon Troyer by his
family. The PCW ladies will hold their, an-
nual birthday party on June 11 at 8 p.m.
Madeline Edward of Goderich will be guest
speaker and special music will be supplied
by Susan Moore of Exeter. All ladies are
welcome.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Smith were guests on
Saturday at the wedding for Mr. and Mrs.
Cliff Alexander, which took place in the
Chapel at the Bluewater Rest Home in
Zurich,

On June 1 an installing team came to Hen-
sall to install thenew Legion officers of Hen -
sail's Branch 468 and Ladies Auxiliary.

Terry Sweiger and Eugene Hartman pro-
vided the music and the Ladies Auxiliary

Sunday afternoon Open House was held to
view the medals, that had been collected
from WWI and II veterans. If there.are any
more medals that anyone would like to
donate to the Legion get in touch with Larry
Uyl. at 262-2618.
The next general meeting will be held
June 13. Plans will be finalized for the
Centennial 'weekend.
The Legion Auxiliary began their monthly
meeting by dining out. During the business
session the many banquets were discussed.
and all went very well. Banquets coming up
were also discussed. The old table that was
in the basement is to be refinished, and the
mer.'s washroom upstairs remodelled.
The Auxiliary had a banquet the evening
before Mother's Day and the Branch sent
the ladies corsages., The ladies thought this
was great and thank the men for their
thoughtfulness.

The United Cheh was filled on Sunday
morning for . the Annual. Promotional- and
Award Sunday conducted by the Sunday
School. The service was conducted by
Donald Wareing. with Dianne Hamilton
reading the $criOture. and Bill Stebbins
leading the congregation in prayer.
The ushers were John Rooseboom, Robert
.Gackstetter, Wayne Scotchmer and Andy
Philips. Lorne Spencer greeted the con-
gregation.
The service was based on the theme of
Hensel' Living and Working Together and
through a chancel drama, written by Pam
Mallette and Joanne Fields. It showed the
importance of a church in the community
and the beginning of Rogerville, the first
church in the Hensall district.
Those playing parts in the drama were:
Diane Stebbins, Pam Gackstetter, Tim
Brock, Mark Brock, Chris Campbell,
Elizabeth Thompson, Wayne Scotchmer,
Gordon .Hamilton, Bevin Moir and Linda
Shirray.
The service, enacted as if in the old Roger-
ville Church, was interspersed with the old
Gospel Hymns. The choir sang. Harry
ttev. lvicUonaici expressed appreciation to
the Sunday School staff for the great amount
of time and effort they put into preparation
and dedication to the. Sunday School.

Rev. McDonald was guest speaker at the
opening sessions of the Province of Ontario
True Blue Lodge held in Listowel this week.
Mr. McDonald is High Chaplain for the
Canadian Foresters for Canada. He was din-
ner guest at the home of Don and Nancy
Hewitt of Listowel. Nancy is the Grand
Mistress of the True Blue Fraternal Society
for the Province of Ontario.
Queensway News
Ladies .from Unit 2 of the Hensall United
Church were at Queensway Nursing Home
on Monday to play bingo. In the evening, the
Bethel Bible Club were in to sing and visit
with the residents.
The Church service on Tuesday afternoon
was conducted by Rev. James Forsythe.
Along to assist him with the service was
Rev. Mills and.Bob Cameron at the piano.
On Wednesday morning the residents
viewed a movie that the dietician of
Queensway brought along with her. In the
afternoon crokinole and checkers were
played.
On Thursday, afternoon, residents got in-
volved in a sing -song. In the evening a
movie depicting the life and adventures of
Grey Owl was viewed.
The newly purchased Swing Bowl game
was tried out on Friday morning. -
