This year judging for the event wiU begin
shortly after f p.m. in the Clinton Arena.
This year tlle.event is being sponsored by
the Clinton Kinette Club and on Tuesday
evening the Kinettes hosted the girls to an
evening supper and worltashop, led by a
member of the Toastmasters public
speaking club and a' Mary Kay cosmetic
consultant.
On Friday evening the girls will be judged
by private intereview and public poise and
each contestant will be required to give a
short speech.
Winner of the contest will be crowned by
last year's queen, Sharon East of Clinton.
Diane Groenestege, 18, is the daughter of
Arnold and Diny Groenestege of RR 2,
Gadshill. She is the 1984 Clinton Klompen
Feest, Queen. She was 1983 queen of the
Benlux Club and first runner-up in the all -
Ontario pageant. A Grade 12 student at
Northwestern Secondary School in
Stratford, she hopes for a teaching career
after Grade 13. Diane is president of the
students' council and she also play? the
piano.
Karen (uok, 18,,js, the daughter of Murray
and, Joyce Cook of Clinton. A Grade 13
student at CHSS, Karen also works at the
Clinton Pool and the Huron Centre for
Children and Youth. She also teaches
Sunday 'School and tutors Vietnamese
students. She has a Girl Guide Canada Cord
and sutdied figure skating for six'yeart
school she is head prefect and w s
nominated for Ontario Junior Citizen of the
Year. Her sponsor is.Clinton Pro Hardware.

Cindy Realm 17, is theudaughter of Patricia
Garrett and Percy Renner. This year she
will complete Grade 12. studies at CHSS and
hopes for a career in hairdressing or
cosmetology, in Kitchener or London. Her
' personal hobbies and interests centre.

Sandra Cantelon, 17, is the daughter of Doug
and Irene Cantelon of Clinton. Her sponsor
is the Huronic Rebekah Lodge. Sandra will
be completing Grade 11 studies at CHSS this
year. In the future she hopes for a career as
a math teacher. At high school Sandra is a,
member of the choir and the girls chorus
and she plays badminton. She also works at
the Triangle Discount.

Henrietta Boop, 18, isrthe'dal hter of Mr.
and Mrs. John Boon of RR 2; Bayfield. after
completing Grade 12 at CHSS she hopes to
attend hairdressing school. Henrietta likes
Weekends, bike riding and. eleerising. She
has also completed three 4-H homemaking
clubs. Mary's Sewing Centre is sponsoring
Henrietta. •
'Rhonda Lobb, 17, is the daughter of Fred
and Kathy Lobb of Clinton. Her sponsor is
the Clinton Recreation Committee. Rhonda
is in Grade 11 at CHSS and works at the
Triangle Discount. Last summer she
worked at the Clinton Tourist Booth. In her
spare time, Rhonda plays piano and is
involved in theatre.
Jennifer Wood. 17, is the daughter Nof Kon
and Donna Wood of (Clinton. Finishing Grade
12 studies, Jennifer will be studying hotel
and restaurant management at Humber
College. This. summer she will work as a
junior ranger in Ottawa. Jennifer's interests
are figure skating, baseball and horseback
riding. Her sponsor is the. Clinton Kinsmen
Club.
Catherine Battye, 19, is the daughter _ of
Elizabeth Battye of Blyth. The 1984 CHSS
Queen, Catherine is also a member of the
students' council and the school athletic
association. She plays piano, is a gym
instructor and works with the Blyth
Summer Festival. This fall she hopes to
study child psychology at the University of
Guelph. She is being sponsored by CHSS.
Melanie Mann, 17, is the daughter of Bob'
and Pat Mann of Clinton, She is a Grade 11
student at CHSS and will be working at the
IGA this summer. Melanie likes painting,
sketching, ceramics and loves horses. At
school she plays badminton and has been
invovled with the yearbook and assembly
club in past years. The Clinton Credit Union
is her sponsor.
Dawn Flynn, 18, is the daughter of Hugh and
Donna Flynn of Londesboro. This year.
Dawn will finish Grade 12 at CHSS and
hopes to attend college to study child care.
She enjoys sports. particularly ball hockey.
Dawn's sponsors in the queen competition
are the Clinton Lions Club.
Wendy Postill, 17, is the daughter of Frank
and Julie Postill of RR 3, Clinton. A Grade 12
student . at CHSS, she hopes to study
photography at college. Wendy is the
photographer for the CHSS yearbook and in
the past four years has been involved in 21
school clubs. Wendy's favorite sport is
badminton. Her sponsor is . Anstett
Jewellers.
