big snow or allowing snow to be blown on to
public roadways. It was agreed that drifts
from snowblowers or deliberate blowing of „
snow on to a road allowance creates a
dangerous condition especially on occasions
when the road is bare except for the build up
of snow caused by a blower. There was some
discussion as to whether or not the respon-
sibility to stop this type of action remained
with the police, the road department or the
municipality. It was unanimous that if we
could educate ourselves, the public, to take
extra caution while blowing snow near the
road it could be the most effective route.
A further discussion ensued regarding the
responsibility of contractors and manufac-
turers to make purchasers aware of the
potential of dangerous gas from using the
equipment or building. The following resolu-
tion was then presented and passed on a mo-
tion of Lionel Wilder -and John George: "Be
it resolved that the Ontario Farm Safety
Association Inc. take action to ensure that
all newly constructed storage facilities or
any equipment that produce or contain
dangerous gasses be equipped with a sign or
warning decal stating that dangerous
a could be present when using the
facility or equipment.”
At this time President Stirling turned the
meeting over to Steve 1111atiesivh0 conducted
the election of officers for the year 1904 and
brought in the 'following slate which was
unanimously approved; past president -
Maurice Hallahan, president - Robert Stirl-
