The decision to accept Mr. Charles
Rogers" • application for a Heritage • Con-
servation Grant for the placing of the shut-
ters on his building has been held "in
abeyance" until the next council meeting.
The Reeve said that because this was the
first application for this particular grant, he
would like the village clerk to notify the
ministry and ask their opinion on the mat-
ter.
"Because if we say we will approve it and
the ministry doesn't, we are stuck," said the
Reeve.

Councillor Huffman and seconded by Coun-
cillor Reg Wilson.
• Councillor Huffman said he recently at-
tended the -Ausable-Bayfield Conservation
Authority meeting and their 1984 budget is
$1,365,892.. The councillor said tht.
authority's main project for this year i§ the
Ausable River.
Council will follow up the . problem of
citizensparking in private driveways, in
turn blocking an exit. Councillor Huffman
said on Saturday, a car was parked in Mrs..
K. Weston's driveway, blocking her access.
The Weston residence is on Erie Street, near
the arena and Reeve Johnston said, "We get
these problems with these tournaments."
He also said that if a car is on private pro-
perty, a tow truck can be called to tow away
the vehicle."
Road Superintendent Penhale told council
the village truck must once again be safety
checked because its six month term is up. "I
can't see it needing anything special
though," he said.
The superintendent mentioned the con -
Cern of citizens about the trees on the village
• road. 'He asked -if -the Huron Comity_ Tree
Commissioner could analyze the trees' con-
dition.
"The question of whether or not we should
try to keep the old ones or replace them with
• new ones might come up;" •Mr. Penhale
said. He said he would have .a list of all the
trees he is concerned with by the next coun-
cil meeting.
Mr. Penhale said he was "very Pleased"
to attend the Good • Road Convention last
month. "But they didn't ask me to be a guest
speaker. I was hoping they would, so could
attend next. year,". joked Rick.
