Invitations were sent out to former, members from the surroun- ding area, to the west coast and more than 75 attended. The evening started out with a ' flag ceremony, with the singing of '0 Canada' and the . 'Calvinette Hymn'. Joanne VanAlnersfoort, who is the Head CounStd'lor, Welcomed everyone and opened the evening: by reading a passage from the Bible, foilewing withprayer. They next read a .Praise Festival' with everyone par- ticipatiirg, and then a game was played to find' out how many miles they had travelled and how many vears they hack been J Calvinettes. After sifgtng a few sols slides were shown of fernier cannpnats and conventions. After the closing, everyone returned to the basement of, the church for coffee and cake. A few of the ladies brought some of their crafts and pictures to share with everyone. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the beginning of Calvinettes. There are 17,000 Calvinettes and 4,400- Counsellors in Nortl 'American. Calvinettes' goal is to br- ing girls, from ages 10 to 14, into a living relationship with Jesus Christ. Many good activities are planned for each night of Calvinettes. It's not only a night of fun, but also a night of enrichment of the gospel into; our hearts and minds. Ba4 then members started out as a Bud and tom'' became a Blossom. She moved onto t1 Tiller, Sower, Gleaner, Reaper anis. Harvester. This program was rewritten and the new ranks became Busy Bees, Juniors, Seniors and Advanced. And now it has been rewritten again to the present of Busy Bees, Adventurers, Seekers, Explorers, Discoverers, and Charme for the advanced girls. Every year the Four Seasons Council, which consists of 10 churches in the area, at- tend a rally. On this day the girls make new friends and learn new ideas from the other clubs. This day is mostly for the girls to learn more about Jesus. During the sum- mer, somewhere in North America, this year it's in;Grand-Rapids, they -host -a con- vention. This is to educate the counsellors for the comu►g season with cfeas for the new _. -.themeeand-howtoportr'ayzt to the girls. -- There are 714 Calvinette Clubs in the U.S. and Canada, so this gives some idea of how many counsellors possibly attend the corp- vention. The Calvinettes believe, "Through God's grace we keep growing. Pray for God's con-` tinued blessing- as -we strive to reach girls. for Christ."
