The Sunday School children of
Holmesville Church and Wesley Willis en-
joyed a shatingjerty at the Clinton arena
and rpturned to Wesley Willis and enjoyed a
potluck .supper.
The Men's Club of Holmesville and
Wesley Willis tea three vans of boys, dads
and grandfathers to London Gardens to see
a hockey game between London Knights and
Sault Ste. Marie. On their return to Clinton
they stopped at McDonald's.
The , Enterprising Seniors will meet
Thursday afternoon at the Community Cen-
tre in Holmesvilleat 2 p.m.
Please mark your calendars for the
dessert euchre in Holmesville at the Com-
munity Centre on March 14 at 1:30 p.m. Pro-
ceeds will go to community work.
Last Wednesday Barb and Alvin Betties
had a birthday dinner party for their
- daughter Mary -Jean with 19 -present.
Barb received a,surprise,phonexall from
a pen pal of many years, who she met last
year for the first tune. Fier pen pal calledlo
say that she was arriving Wednesday for a
visit from Nantori, Alberta. Mrs. Con Loree
and her daughter Mrs. Robert Zebedee, en-
joyed the visit with Barb and Al and the
guests.
The regular meeting of the Goderich
Tombip 150 committee will be held March
18 at 1:15 p.m, at the Community Centre in
Hohnesville.
Next Goderich Township W.I. card party
will be held on March 8 at the Community
Centre, Holmesville. Ladies are asked to br-
ing lunch.
Nifty Needles
Holmesville I 4-H Club held their first
meeting Feb. 20 at the home of assistant
leader, Joan Crawford. Leader, Linda
Mustard opened the meeting.
Members chose the club name Nifty
Needlers and picked the club officers. Presi-
dent is Shannon Preszcator, Vice -President
is Jodi Mustard, Secretary is Shelly Pear-
son, Treasurer is Lori Forbes and Press
Reporter is Lisa Forbes. Other members in-
clude Lana Jones, Nina Potter, Jaqua Lobb
and Anne Tyndall.
They meet every Monday after school.
The next meeting will be March 5.

---MIDDLETON--Morning-Prayerwas-held
in St. James' Anglican Church on Sunday
morning with Rev. Gordon Reynolds in
charge. Brad Wammes received the Sunday.
School collection and James Storey received
the regular offering.
Next Sunday at St. James, communion
will be celebrated.
World Day of Prayer will be held on
March 2 at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew's United
Church in Bayfield.
John Peeves spent a few days with Marion
and Jack Smith in Dungannon.
Boat c,ontract awarded
VANASTRA - Bob Spears, president of
Bayfield Boat Yards has announced the
awarding of a production contract to Scorpio
Yachts of Exeter.
The Scorpio contract valued at $100,000
includes designing and tooling for the
Bayfield 36 foot sailboat, which is
manufactured at the Bayfield Boat Yard
plant in Vanastra.
Mr. Spears said he 'hopes this is only the
first of future business relationships with
the Exter firm, which is headed by president
Hayden Gozzard,

KIPPEN- If you heard an extra loud buzz- '
ing in the area last week it was coming from
the home of Rena Caldwell, where a number
of Kippen and area ladies had gathered for a
quilting bee to help with another quilt that
had been put into the fraines, this orie being '
a project for the Kippen East Women's In-
stitute.
Those, ladies who enjoyed the quilting and
companionship accompanied by tea and
goodies courtesy .of the hostess, Rena
Caldwell were Ruby Triebner, Isabelle
Scott, Grace McBride, Grace Adkins, Grace
Drummond, Grace .Pepper, Agnes Eyre,
Helen 1VIcKaig, Jeanette Turner, Gertie

Kippen I - The Kippen Quilting Bees had to
postpone their meeting this week due to the
flu bug among some of the members.
Kippen III - The first meeting of the 4-H
Quilting Club was held on Feb. 14 at the
home of leader Joyce Wilson, the other
leader is Eileen Townsend. The officers
are: president - Yvette Predhomme; vice-
president - Lori LeBeau; secretary -
floating; treasurer - Janice Moffatt; press
reporter - floating; telephone committee -
Karen DeJong and Mary Gibson. There are
seVen members for this project. After going
through the books and finding out about the
requirements for this quilting, club,
members started their first sample showing
the basic quilting stitch.
United Church News
St. Andrew's Church, Kippen, held their
Feb. 26 service at 10 a.m. with Pastor Don
Moffat in the pulpit, the theme for this ser-
vice was "Prayer". The ministry of music
was presented by the choir, accompanied by
Barbara Cooper at the organ.
The Bulletin Announcements reminded
the congregation of Friday March 2 - World
Day of Prayer at Brucefield Church, at 2,
p.m.
