most of the expenses
Traditionally, the major portion of the

wedding ring for the groom if it is to be a
double ring ceremony; a wedding gift for
the groom, and gifts for her attendants.
She and her family are also responsible
for her wedding attire and personal
trousseau; wedding invitations and an-
nouncements; wedding photographs;
flowers for the church and the reception;
bridesmaids' bouquets; transportation for
the bridal party from house to church to
reception; the reception and wedding cake.
The costs normally assumed by the groom
are: the marriage licence, engagement and
wedding ring; a gift for the bride and gifts
for the best man and ushers; the
clergyman's fee; his wedding clothes and
all costs of the wedding trip and honeymoon.
The groom's family usually bears the ex-
pense of the rehearsal party or dinner at-
tended by the principals in the wedding and
often enlarged to include close friends and
relatives.
Although sometimes borne by the groom,
the cost of the bride's bouquet and going
away corsage, flowers for the mothers and
grandmothers, and boutonnieres for the
men in the wedding party, are often includ-
ed with the other flowers selected and paid
for by the bride's family.
The aide's attendants normally pay for
their own bridal finery, although the style is
chosen by the bride. The best man and
ushers are responsible for their outfits,
often rented from formal wear outfitters.
The attendants, female and male, have
the option of sponsoring a bridal shower and
a stag evening, respectively.
In today's mobile society, in which
parents may live too far away to be involved
iwthe pre -wedding planning, costs are often
shared by the bride and groom themselves,

What to pack
• One of the things every groom must con-
sider is the preparation of his honeymoon
. wardrobe. Two main factors determine his
choice — the mode of travel and the destina-
tion.
If you plan to fly or drive, travel clothes
should be casual and comfortable. If a
cruise is scheduled, the casual togs should
be augmented by at least a suit or sport
jacket and sWcks for dinner., It's a safe rule
of thumb that for a two-week cruise, four
complete and distinictly. different outfits will
be enough. Your travel agent can advise
whether a dinner jacket may be needed as
well. •
For travel by car or plane, a pair of jeans,
two. pairs of slacks, and several sport shirts
are among basic needs. A dress shirt or two,
and a couple of ties will come in handy for
• dinners at first-class restaurants.
