In fact, a number of places under the sun
— trema a late summer or fall trip to Ber-
muda, a longtime favorite of honeymooners,
a visit to a Caribbean couples -only resort, to
the sun and surf of Mexico or Hawaii —
seem to be high on the list with newlyweds
this season.
And for those who like winter sports, ski
holidays can also be arranged at a ,variety of
locations in North America, or abroad:
While trips van be tailored to virtually any
mood, budget or length of stay, couples who
have set a date to get married should begin
planning their honeymoon - both in terms
of how much they wish to spend and where
they most want to go = as soon as possible.
By making honeymoon plans well in ad-
vance, couples have a much better chance
of ensuring travel connections to, and ac-
commodation at, a preferred location,
thereby avoiding the disappointment of not
being able to go somewhere on which they
had their hearts set.
Couples getting: married should begin
making their honeymoon plans as soon as
they can, and then reserve -space early if
they, have decided on a preferred location
for their post -wedding trip.
Couples might also consider having an
alternate honeymoon_ spot in mind, just in
case bookings at their preferred location
cannot be made to mesh exactly with their
travel schedule.
.While. planning should begin well in ad -
vance — the logical first step is to contact a
travel agent for both advice and assistance
— a similar amount of thought should go in-
to arriving at a realistic honeymoorr-cost
budget. A honeymoon trip can be enjoyable
and exciting, without being extravagant.
Couples should set a very realistic budget
for honeymoon costs and then stick to it.
With this in mind, many newlyweds save
money in advance to cover the cost of their
honeymoon, and there are also many travel

By booking well in advance, for example,
couples may be able to take advantage of
any reduced air fares that might be in effect
when they are travelling on their honey-
moon. Also booking in advance is likely to
give couples a better edge in confirming
space on popular inclusive trips.—_pre-paid
packages that cover all, or virtually all,
costs.
Cruises are very popular with honey-
mooners, since they offer good value for
money.
On cruises, for example, accommodation,
meals, activities and entertainment are in-
cluded in the price of passage, enabling
cost-conscious travellers to budget more
closely for the additional expenses they ex-
pect to incur on the trip.
Many honeymoon destinations offer
travel packages in which basic daily rates
cover not only accommodation but also two
meals a day — usually breakfast and din-
ner. Those newlyweds who want to stick to a
set budget should enquire about which costs
are covered in their basic payment, and
