tion recently compiled a list of commonly
asked questions and answers.
Q. Who or what decides if the wedding is to
be formal, semiformal or informal?
A. Those decisions are usually up the
bride, and are often determined by the
choice of gown she wears and the site of the

is considered to be semiformal.

Men choosing diamond rings
The wedding band is becoming popular
among men. As more men are wearing
jewellery, from pinky rings to neck chains,
the groom is willing to wear a wedding band.
Wedding bands are available in sets, so
the groom's will match his bride's. Tradition
dictates that the couple's names or initials
and the wedding date be engraved in the
ring or rings.
Some couples choose to skip the engage-"
ment ring and have diamonds set in both
bands.. Gentlemen's diamonds are very
popular and they don't feel they're being
feminine in the least by wearing them.
The wedding band can be purchased to
match the engagement ring. Often this
means they have to be purchased at the
same time, or as the big day approaches the
band may be out of stock.
Many couples prefer to buythe diamond
and put the band on lay away. This protects
against price increases and ensures them
they can get a matched set when they want
it.
