Are you unhappy with the state of your farm business records? Is the banker critical of your financial records? Why not solve record problems by resolving to improve your record situation in 1984? We invite you to stop at the local Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food office to get a revised "Ontario Farm Record Book". This book will help you to organize your financial records for your own management uses and tax purposes. While at the office be sure to ask about farm inventories. Inventories of livestock, feed, crops and supplies can be recorded in the record book or you can obtain a single in- ventorypage to add to any other record book. Inventories and records of accounts e score payable - receivable are essential to deter- mine profitability of farming operations. Farm tax records on a cash basis can be very misleading to both you and your banker. A copy of the "Ontario Farm Management Analysis Project" will show how your farm compares with other farms in Ontario. "A Farm Financial Planning Workbook" and "Money Matters" are useful for finan- cial planning. Remember, failing to plan is planning to fail! Resolve to act now so you'll be more prepared to know the score in '84! To all our many friends - Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year! Don Pullen, Ag Rep A. Christmas message for you It was the night before Christmas and everyone was excited singing carols and laughing until father said it was time for Tonight I knew was a special night and there could be no stalling for Santa Claus was coming and the stockings and tree were ready for lots of presents. I soon was in bed with my teeth brushed and already thinking of the candy rd be eating tomorrow. Soon I fell asleep. Now you know Santa Claus is a busy man, but he never forgets a house, but this Christmas he did. This Christmas Eve it was pretty foggy. Santa knew he was in the country now and would have to be careful- He went to our neighbors and filled their stockings full. Then he skipped right over our house because we didn't have our fireplace going so there was no smoke to see (I guess he wasn't too careful). The next morning I was the first one up to see what I got. Guess what I got? Nothing! I checked every stocking. Zilch! I couldn't believe it ! Why? I was good! After I calmed down iust a bit I called the Frosty the snowman One cold winter night Frosty walked down the partly snow covered street, looking for someone to play with. There was nobody in sight. It was late and although Frosty knew that all children were in bed dreaming about Christmas, one might want some milk and toddle down to the all night store. Frosty was about the cry but he did not, for he knew water would melt him. Suddenly, a loud sound of ringing was heard...then more and more. Then Frosty heard Ho...Ho...Ho... it was him, Frosty knew it was Santa. "Hi Santa,"he called. Santa looked down, "Oh why aren't you in bed Frosty?" "I just wanted to play with someone." "Santa can't come unless your asleep and I was really looking forward to visiting you!" "You would visit me?" "Well sure. I received your letter." "Oh boy." Frosty flew all the way home up and down hills over ice patches and even through Mr. Grinches yard! Which we all know you never do. When Frosty was home, he put on his pj's and fell fast asleep. When he woke up, do you know what he saw? It was Sprite, the Christmas doll he always wanted. "Thanks Santa," he called, "Thanks a lot!" -by Cathy Rogers, 6A Huron Cen- tennial School. neighbors but he had been to their houses. Odd! Why? By this time everyone else woke up. They were as puzzled as I was. Next door there lived a bachelor. He was a kind and giving man. His name was Alex Zingbe. It happened that he had a fireplace and it was going on Christmas Eve (in my letter to Santa I said I had a fireplace). So, Santa dropped off OUR gifts at hisPla ce: Alex woke up kind of late. Boy, what a shock to his eyes! He saw gifts, lots of them. He knew they weren't his. So he wrote to the newspaper. Please put this in the paper: On Christmas Eve I received seven gifts that aren't mine. If they're yours, call 222-551603. Alex Zingbe. P.S. It was in the paper the next day. Well when I saw this I couldn't believe it. They were our gifts! 1 got right on the telephone and called Alex. He even believed me. And that's how we solved the mystery of The Missing Gifts. P.S. Santa never forgot us again. -Fayeanne Love, Gr. 5, Huron Centennial School.
