(Rod Hilts photo) Christmas has meaning for many people Christmas is the time of year, For everyone to be full of cheer. The sleighbells are ringing, The carollers are singing. There are presents. Santa and little elves. And toys upon Santa's shelves. The toys are waiting to be put in the sled, While children are snuggled and tucked in bed. Santa is on his way once more, But he's the kind that never uses the 'loot. He goes down the chimney and has some tea, Then he puts presents under the Christmas tree. Then he is on his way till next year, For everyone to be full of cheer. By Shelley Wilson Gr. 8 Holmesville Public School Santa never forgot us Christmas is for girls and boys. Who of course enjoy all toys. Santa Claus is jolly and fat, For Billy leaves a shiny new bat. For Paula and Laurie, to their surprise. Receive a doll, which Santa buys. Baby Jane, she gets a ball. And Tommy, who isn't tall. Yes, he receives a train and track, The train is red, but now for Jack. Jack has asked for a catchers mit, Judy asks for a doll and a kit. The kit can make her doll some clothes, The doll it has a little red rose. But now its time for Santa to go. Off he goes, out into the snow. Be goes to every town and house, For every girl, boy and mouse. He goes to pac land and to the smurfs, And to Hawaii to ride the surfs. By now he is at his little house, Drinking chocolate with his spouse. He's wished you all "Merry Christmas" and His work is done all over the land. And I would just like to say. Merry Christmas. Hooray' Hooray' Christmas has come, and it has passed, It is the end of this poem. "Whew" at last. .)actue nnaoon Gr. 8 Holrnesville Public School I like to wrap presents. I sat on Santas big knee. Santa asked me my name, I whisper to him my name is Dwayne. I have been helpful and kind. Santa asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I said "I wanted a four-by-four." I like giving presents for my S mom and dad. I want to give my mom a bottle of purfume. I want to give my dad a new shirt and the best thing about Christ- mas is that Santa Claus comes. -Dwayne McNab, Gr. 1, Huron Centennial School.
